Being GenX, I wanted nothing to do with modern EV cars and for that matter self driving cars. Well I have been converted. I have to commute 2 days a week into the Los Angeles cess pool. I just recently leased a Chevrolet Equinox EV that came with Super Cruise, I had no intention of ever using it, but sitting in traffic and driving on the freeway this self driving system is easy to use and works amazing. I can sit in the drivers seat and chill a bit. Im always ready to take control if needed. I know most people want nothing to do with these cars and tech and get angry at just the thought of them, but they will be hard to avoid in the future.

What does super cruise do that adaptive cruise control doesn't? Steer?

I use adaptive cruise control nearly all the time on freeways. Set it 10 over and let it manage following vehicles.

If SC does the steering too, that might be nice but I doubt I'd trust it at freeway speeds. Maybe stop and go is the best use of it?

Also SC only works on major freeways correct?

Yes in addition to adaptive cruise control, it adds steering and it also performs lane changes as needed to keep up with traffic flow. Super Cruise currently only works on major freeways/highways. I had my doubts at freeway speeds, but it handles it great.

Coming soon, door locks, windows and radio will be the next subscriptions, followed by 20 free engine starts per month and additional ones at $5 a pop.

Tesla.
My brother bought full auto pilot and the increased performance package, but if he sells it's not transferable.

I love my 2006

2-3 days/week from Costa Mesa to Marina Del Rey. My wife’s Tesla is a life saver. It still sucks, but it sucks less on autopilot.

If you drive a lot, and have shitty driving skills, these self drivers are game changers.

I’d like to rent an RV for a month with one of these units installed. 😉

Considering the basic "Boaters Forum" intent and nature of RDP, I'm rather surprised when I read of a greater than expected number of you apparently embracing the experience of being chauffeured around by an AI with the driving abilities of an inexperienced 15 Y.O. at the wheel. 🤔🥴

Oh sure, then you can be in the back making a sandwich while the RV drives off an unfinished bridge because the software didn’t finish its updates.
