The DCB needs new reeds. Motors are 300X, anybody have experience with Chris Carson Marine reeds? Scream and fly people rave about them, and he also recommends using his Stuffer kits which push the reeds .065" closer to the crank. Motors have just over 300 hours on them and first time the reeds are getting done.

Chris‘s reeds are good in conjunction with his stuffer boxes. Call him and discuss what you think you may need. He will not oversell anything you don’t really need. If you don’t get him on first call just keep trying. He truly is a Merc OB guru.

More important than the reeds is the condition of the blocks. They must be flat and straight.

I've used his reeds in many motors and have no complaints.

Best way to tell they aren’t flat? Is that something I will easily be able to see when I reinstall them against the stuffers?

If yours are untouched and still rubber coated it's best to send the to Chris, have him remove the rubber and cut them.
