So im in the market for a rhino.. Went and looked at one today. Mid travel suspension.. Gorilla axles etc. The seller told my it has a torn cv boot on the rear outer. So i go and run it and its clanking pretty bad. He says its bcus the boot has leaked out all the grease. Does that sound right..or is it more of a bad cv joint issue? Thanks .

What 3.slow said. Rhinos are notorious for having the rear diffs come loose and cracking at the mounting points. Worst case scenario, you need to buy a new rear diff. Best case scenario, tighten the bolts back up and buy a rear diff support for it.

My rear diff was loose. Then started spraying grease everywhere. I bought a new (used) rear diff and the problem ended up being a loose input shaft/pinion.
Also, these are always fully locked. No limited slip in the rear. So they bind pretty bad while turning at slow speeds on the street.

What's the info on the Rhino. I heard mid-travel. Depending on price, you may be able to get into a long travel one.
This one here on the threads seems pretty nice. https://www.riverdavesplace.com/forums/threads/2006-yamaha-rhino-6000.190518/

Yeah. Under 4K is hard to loose on. I've changed a few boots on mine.
