$60K seems to be on the cheaper side, at least in my opinion, I know someone could not build one for that price. Billy would be near $20K just for the color, then $40K for the engine, $10k for a trailer, all the money for a one off billet installation and you still need a hull…..yep on the cheaper side me thinks.

Kinda surprised Wayne is selling it.

Maybe that hop caused more than thought.

40K for that engine would be a really good deal.

Any one know how Wayne is doing? I haven’t heard much since he got pitched out of the boat.

Was that the ooopsie at the outlaw dealio a yr or 2 ago? Broke his back I heard? Or has there been one since? Amazing boat right there for ez money. I watched Davey B. (RIP) Wooop up on Tony Scarlotta in k69 years ago driving that boat @ Long Beach. Amazing race.....

I watched that happen at Sundance and it didn’t look that violent, but he got hurt pretty bad and the boat sustained some damage which really surprised me..

I believe they went through and fixed everything shortly after. Haven’t heard much about Wayne after that.

… this is the video I shot on Saturday… When Tony Scarlatta and the K-69 took the win… I wasn’t there Sunday when Davey Bryant in the Coldfire put a whooping on Tony Scarletta…

Something most of you probably don't know, Wayne suffered a serious back injury decades before this on his dirt bike. His old surgery scar ran the entirety of his spine. The boat incident was round 2. He's a tough ol dude!

Jerry you sold your boat too? I remember you telling me at Pomona it's kinda tough to have that much tied up in a toy.

Yeah, after 20 years I let it go. It was a great ride that I feel fortunate to have survived. K boats are intoxicating, but not without great risk. Anyone who's ridden in a real one - meaning blown injected on alcohol and with the blower wicked up knows what I speak of.

Not that you asked, but I sold it for a number of reasons.

1. After 20 years I pretty much scratched that itch.
2. I didn't want to die in it and I didn't want my young boys to get hurt or worse.
3. Being a 1 man show, the work to just use, maintain and repair was starting to take a toll. I can't imagine racing on the regular.
4. I wanted to add a ski boat but I don't have room for 2 boats.

I'll get another flatty someday but more like the Hondo I used to have. Something a little tamer, but fast, fun and still able to pull a skier.

I was…best LB race weekend I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending.

Bryant drove that thing like it owed him money.

Sunday’s Final:

… I am Certainly no K boat expert… But in my limited time being exposed to them…… Coldfire along with being exceptionally fast…appears as a true work of art…

…Metaphorically…kinda like a chick who is stunningly beautiful… but also … “hopefully”… is not going to use you up too badly,.. in other words also smart🤷🏽‍♀️
