Cougar MTR 21 Jet setup.

Does anyone on here have experience with droops, rideplate setup and shoe on a Cougar MTR 21 Jet? I am currently running a AT 9 1/4 Stainless impeller, inducer, hardened shaft, rideplate 2.5 degree's up. I just put a mini droop on which I'm gonna test Wednesday. The boat hooks up great and runs up to 105mph with a blown 496. I have a porpous between 30mph and 45mph after that it smooth as can be all the way up to 105mph. I'm trying to see if I can gain anymore out of it with setup.

Thanks, Yes it does run good. I had Tony Skagen do the pump and he did a great job. But I'm always willing to try to squeeze a bit more out of her.

Tony knows what he is doing no doubt! I have a 21’ Liberator with a Blown long rod 454ci and legend pump AA Impeller. I’m told it will run 100mph. I have only had it out twice so I haven’t leaned on it too hard yet....

What horsepower/torque numbers and what rpm is it making the power? Also curious what intake and shoe?

It's right at 950hp right now 6400rpm not quite sure the torque numbers but it pulls hard. It's a pretty good runner. I'm not really looking to go much faster. but would like to eliminate the porpous between 30 and 45mph. I can pretty much stop it with the place diverter all the way down but don't like to drive the nose down that much. Not sure if I can get rid of it without sacrificing somewhere else. It has a cutback shoe I think 4 degrees, MPD loader. Not a low pro intake. I'm gonna try this mini droop I have just to see how it does. I was running a full droop. I also have a 4 degree wedge I haven't tried yet. I may pick up a 2 degree and try it too. It's just to hot out here in Nevada now to be working on the darn thing.
