Roy passing this last weekend has really thrown me for a loop. I habe always been concerned about getting the virus, but like most just wash hands regularly and don’t go licking door knobs..

However I am supposed to leave for LOTO here in two weeks, and I’m doing the math on this.. I don’t know if I will catch covid or not there.. but I know a 100% with 100’s of thousands of people coming from all over there is a 100% chance I’m gonna get exposed to it.

I’m just not sure it’s worth risking my life to goto a boating event.

On the inverse side though I can’t help but wonder if you couldn’t just as easily lick it up from a gas pump or a shopping cart.. it’s spreading around Havasu like wild fire right now.

I already have commitments towardsa house we rented snd it’s gonna get paid whether we go or not.. which is 2-3k. Total trip all in if we got would be 10-15.. (towing the boat out this year and flying everyone else in)..

Would you go? I am kinda leaning towards not going..

Turn off the fear porn channels... I got it back during thanksgiving, my wife didn't. I was sick, she wasn't, we didn't do anything different within the household. Go live your life, turn off the media. People aren't dying in the streets like they make it out to be. Enjoy the trip, give us daily updates when you are there!

I had it at the same time, wife got it also two weeks of zero energy, apatite, headaches etc no fever never went to my lungs. My bother on the other hand struggled with it for months almost killed him. Difference he has RA and is on a form of chemo for treatment so his immune system was jacked.

Well this is how I see things and many are going to disagree.

You have to die from something and there no use of putting life on hold for something that's not going away.
Just look at all the boating deaths we have had recently, You just never know when it's your time or do you have control of when your time.

On another note I can see where your coming from after losing a good friend.
Decide what's best for you and your family that's all that matters!

I'd go. You are around PLENTY of people with possible exposure every day. Might as well have fun while being potentially exposed.

I'm 98% sure everybody will get the Rona at some point in their life. Most likely wont even notice it. It will end up being just another strain of the common flu once all the hysteria subsides.

I’m a teacher. I got the vaccine because i felt like doing nothing at all was not responsible of me. I respect everyone’s choice though

You realistically have a higher chance of dying from living your current lifestyle (ie: lung cancer, heart disease ,cirrhosis of the liver) than dying from the vid. But do you boo lol

Just got back from a 2 week marathon of Havasu, flight to Texas and back, then seattle and back. Lots of confined spaces with lots of people and I am just fine. Live your life and dont let this control it. Its a scary thing and I think about it as well, often. I know 2 people who have died from it and its as real as it gets. But, with a little common sense and awareness one can still live life as normal as life will allow. I dont let the fear machine dictate how I live my life, I simply have continued to live my life as normally as I would have had Covid never existed. As far as vaccination goes, I have not and dont plan to. I have a friend who lives just like me (normal) and got vaxxed last week. She tested positive for covid a week later. Coincidence, I dont think so. These are weird times we live in and they can be scary if you allow it. You have control, use common sense and take precautions as necessary and you will be fine.

2 weeks out getting the vax wont help.

Id still go about normal living but a mass gathering multi-day event I would not. Arizona is back to a level of infections that is equal to when the vaccine wasnt out
Um...... not really? Plus the Vax doesn't stop infections. Never has.

Also, the delta strain is nowhere near as deadly. Look at the death graph

Hospitalizations have also barely ticked up on this "wave".

your trip to topock yesterday and any other daily things you do put you at risk to get it also. going to a huge boating event does increases the risk. But you also just drove in your rv to multiple states and you weren't afraid.
i see in it real life 3-4 days a week 12 hours each day. its real but nothing is really going to protect you. one of the hospitals i work all patients that are intubated in the icu are ages 30-40. 39 yo died on monday, 33 yo died yesterday.

that being said im still a little careless because in realty there's no answer or cure and i dont want to live my life in fear. alot of vacinated people are also getting it there is 1 shot that really doesnt work and 2 others that kind of work. they all dont really work they just supposedly just help you with effects of it once you get the virus.

The best prevention from getting Covid is "Prevention" something that is really never discussed on the fear channels. I don't know the vitamins to be taking exactly, my wife does that part, but I know that zinc is a big one, vitamins C and D, and melatonin at night, I think I take about 4 others though. The information is out there on what is the best to take. We have a natural pathic Dr. friend who gave us the formula, and she's really good.

The human body is amazing, and when given the correct doses of vitamins, it can be even more effective.

Roy's deal is super tragic, but he was a total outlier from an odds perspective. If Roy had of passed in a plane crash would that stop you from flying?

I'm not letting fear rule my life, but i dont have kids either...

RIP Roy 😔

This is what I would say. If you've been doing this regiment for the past year or so, then I'd go. If you haven't, I'd stay home. Also get the antibody test first, if you've already had it you're golden.

Some intel on AZ COVID, hospital my wife works at now has a full ICU again. All of the patients who are in ICU due to COVID or COVID related complications are not vaccinated. Directors of critical care across the valley have all met again to develop a surge plan for the 3rd time. My wife's hospital is preparing all employees who used to be in the ICU (my wife) to go back to support for the 3rd time.

From where I sit, it looks like COVID is surging again, who knows how bad it is now and if it will be as bad as the prior surges. I am hopeful that there are enough vaccinated folks to not overrun the ICU's like happened before. I am also hopeful that cooler heads will prevail on policy and not shut us down again.

I got tested Monday to make sure i was good as someone in our office got it... I'm all clear.

The employee who go it is currently in the hospital only because he's a heart transplant patient at 32 (38 or so now) and had a O2 reading of 90%. Hes anti vax and the nurse said to him that 95% of the people in the covid room had been vax'd so there is that......

My opinion is that I wouldn't go, not worth the chance just not for you but the fam as well.

@ArizonaKevin vegas is full and them some. at the bigger hospital of the 2 i work at and its worst then the smaller one. bigger hospital has broke ground to extend ER last month(probably wont help this year but they started. smaller hospital has converted the waiting room to negative pressure patient care area as out other rooms have been full.

Same story for my wife’s hospital

I would go, just be careful around the large and any confined groups or areas if at all possible. I cannot believe you have not gotten yet from all the travel and contact you have, glad you have not gotten it, and I would not stop living and doing things I love I would just be more careful like we are now. In the end it is up to you and your wife on what to do and when, you have kids to protect but you also cannot stop living.

Been down there during the holidays, events, random weekends all year. None of our crew got sick, over 30 of us.

Don’t let it ruin a good trip.

Do whatever has worked for you thus far.

That's what we're doing during this "surge." We got the vax, but we're also taking all the immunity vitamins and staying the fawk away from groups of people again. It worked last time around. And I can always grab some of my horse wormer (Ivermectin) if shiat hits the fan!

Good luck either way - to everybody, vaxed or not vaxed.

We are going too. I'll tell you this. You won't see any masks and the pools will be packed all weekend.

At my brothers hospital In San Diego it has been unvaccinated only in ICU.....as of a few days ago.

Honestly I'm not against it, I'm just not for it.. Some of the side affects that I have seen online and as well people that I know personally scare me as much as the virus..

If you haven't seen the shakes deal where it looks like these people have a bad case of Parkinson's.. Let me assure you that's absolutely real and happening to a lot of people across the nation (I know at least 2). The blood clot deal is in fact killing some, because I know a couple that happened to as well. In terms of numbers I know some people that died of covid, I know some people that are fucked up by the vaccine, and a couple that died from the blood clots... So I'm pretty even on fucked up from the virus and fucked up from the vaccine..

Like I said awhile back there doesn't seem to be a lot of good choices with regard to this, other than limit exposure and hide in the house.. which isn't gonna bode well for RDP or our Real Estate biz so that's not really an option either... Factor in the kids goto school which might as well be a Petri dish..

I just don't know that if Desert Storm was next week that I'd go injecting myself into the middle of the street fair.. I'd probably pay staff to do it at this point and be somewhere to see some members, but not in the middle of the crowd, but not shaking hands, slapping ass and kissing babies like I usually do.. LOL

We're all Vaxed in my family except for my 17 year old son. Well he tested positive last Tuesday and we're going to Maui on Saturday so if he doesn't test negative by Friday he's staying home. He's been staying in his room and none of us have caught it from him.

You have a pretty social life, if I were a betting man you've most likely been around it several times already.

I have been.. I was within 2' of it last week. I was talking to a guy at our first night back at school with the kids, and he kinda backed up.. Found out later he has Covid, so does the wife etc.. They didn't know it at the time, but they know now.

It's not gonna matter where your at the virus is everywhere now with that being said I wouldn't let fear control my life because the media is doing plenty of that. There is a virus but I think its being used as a tool and most data out there is hyped to scare for an agenda just my opinion, do what keeps you comfortable mentally I think you will be fine if you go or stay.

Tough call Dave...

Nobody wants to live in fear, but with what you're going through, you have to consider your options.

I'm not going to tell you anything you don't already know. Nobody on here is.

This is a personal decision for you...

Talk to Stacy and you guys figure it out.

Pretty much my stance as well. Wife is vaccinated I am not. Not sure if I will get it or not.

Regardless of what you decide if you need to go to the hospital only go to a Tier 2 or 1 trauma center. As you just saw you may not get transported [emoji17].
