Anyone have an update on the how the CSR is going? Who got to the island first? Is the water still flat? Who's in the lead? Thanks.

What kind of info do you ever get while the race is running? Until they get back to Long Beach and post the results no one knows shit.

Ya I know but there is usually some updates from someone, or like who was first to the turn or something ??

Actually you get some good info if your on the Queen Mary. Just stand near a person that has a radio and you can hear what is going on in the race. And for some who don't finish the race. :p

Two small boats first to make the turn, un-named Aussie skier in front of Martie Wells was what I got

Here's the finish with Todd Haig (top) and Wayne Mawyer. Sorry, it's the best I could do with my iphone...

I was waiting to see that since Avila's boat was first across the line, looks like you were shooting that from an angle behind the line a bit. Good for Todd, Randy must have hit the nitrous crossing the line!

It was an awesome finish, they were neck and neck all the way. Both drivers were on the throttles as they approached the finish line.

How fast r they going?

I have heard different figures over the years about what the distance is, but if you were to believe 62 miles,, right at 80 mph average. Inside the break water is usually smoother and faster. I was not present at the race this year, but have to believe the two leaders crossed the finish line somewhere in the high 90's.

Man that almost looks too close to call!

Had to be right at the finish line. That video is the best quality I have seen, saw one phone shot from behind the line on Queen Mary,,, it was really close!

Todd's rope was quite a bit shorter, crazy finish, closest I've ever seen. Major horse power, money, and skill pushed to the limits.

During the post race interview with Randy Davis, he said the tattle tale read 99.3 mph on the home stretch! Trimmed up and ballast tank dumped! Couldn't ask for a better finish than that!:thumbsup

I ran into Kyle on his way down to the launch ramp this morning toting all his gear, stopped for a minute to chat and snapped this pic. His head was in the game, cool as a cucumber, not a care in the world, we didnt even talk about the race LOL To say he went out and had a great fucking day is an understatemnt, 4th place overall, might be time for Jim to buy a bigger boat:D

Just saw a GPS screen shot from the 3rd place men's open skier from what I saw, showing 58.14 miles traveled, so more like 75 mph average for the winner if you do the math.

Wow if that is 4th place after the adjusted time that was one hell of a ski run Kyle. Nice job.

I have a feeling the 4th place is not adjusted for the separated starts. Either way great job Kyle and Jim!

The 3 across the line in front of them are all legends... good company to be in.

Yep, both Martie and Kyle were in small boats and the board shows overall placing. There were a few other boats that beat them both.
