The Lava Chute is accessed through the top. You go past David Run and keep following the ridge. Best to follow people if you never been. Dont want to end up out of bounds on backside.

No. You end up down by the lakes and need to take a shuttle back to Eagle Lodge. Totally worth it.

300 mile round trip drive today to core drill one 2" hole in a foot thick concrete deck up in the crawl space. Hit a horizontal #7 bar dead center. Drill was crying and so was I. Thing cost $1100.
