Bob is a great guy. He spent hours with us when we were building the 468 chevy for our 73 Mandella. I told him I was looking for 500 hp. Bob told us exactly what we needed. Bob even checked the crank himself to make sure it was good to use and loaned us some tools we didn’t have. When we were done, we had the engine on the dyno at Westech and wound up with 545 hp.

Uh oh. Power steering leak. Rag is there to slow the leak when I drove over some pavers.

I was up at 5:50am working yesterday through 3pm without even grabbing a glass of water. By that time I was ready for a lunch break. Quick paddle with my wife and 15 nap then back to work. Nice to live across the street from this! Thanks to my wife for the video. She caught me sleeping!

Lake Las Vegas. It is awesome. We feel like we are on vacation every day. We looked at Summerlin and a bunch of other higher end areas around Vegas. We like that we are butted up against Lake Mead. We can leave our house and be on Lake Mead in about five minutes. We have about a 100 miles of car free bike trails literally out the front door of our house. Restaurants and bars across the street from our home in the Village. It's just far enough out of Vegas that you don't have that hustle and bustle but close enough you can be at the airport in 20 min. It's desert with miles of dirt trails across our street too. Basically its BLM north and Lake Mead State park South East, West is to Vegas.

This is our second to our last home. We will either buy our last home here or in Boulder City. BC just doesn't have the convenience to ride to dinner on a bicycle like we have. Well at least where we would buy in BC just isn't as convenient.

its nice now, I was looking at it when the neighborhood was in bankruptcy 10 or so years ago.

The Village and such took a bad hit during 2008. However, there is enough homes here now that even without tourism there are enough people here to support and keep the area nice. Even through all this shit going on, two more new restaurants are opening up in the Village. It's going pretty nuts here now. However, tourism still adds a bunch here. There are days here lately you can't even walk through the village there are so many people. The amount of people that pay to go paddle boarding and such is crazy.

Sometimes I just think our life is surreal. Had the parents over for breakfast then across the street to the lake to paddle board and hang with friends today. We are so blessed to be healthy and live in such a great area. Have an awesome weekend. BTW, the homes on the hill in the background are what we want to buy next. Just a little out of our wheelhouse right now. :(

I posted this in the D&G section as well. Today we went to the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum. We are on a quest to visit tourist traps while the number of people on island going around is low. Today was great!!! There were only 6 cars in the parking lot and we had a private tour with only our party of three in it. Next on our list is the Missouri battleship.
