Picking up the boat and start chatting about this old inline six I saw walking in. Guy takes me to his back lot and shows me where it came from. Other than the pull bar up front it looked completely unmolested.

1951 Chevy 3100 split window step side w/ 80k miles, original paint too.

That’s good question, guess it depends on the level of finished project your looking for. I would say 5-10 k tops but I’m no expert. Would be cool put back as original with the patina as it looks now.

Ok good to know we’re in the ballpark. Paint wise I’d sand it a bit and clear coat as I absolutely love how it looks. Drivetrain, suspension and brakes will need a little love

You might've been in a multi unit building on the cliff pointed out over harbor looking to north on Ocean Blvd. I believe there were around 14 units in that structure. It came down few years ago and now is an amazing multi villa structure and boy is it something. Units average 4K sq ft, elevators etc....Took builder years to get approvals cause it sits directly on & down cliffs edge. Really gorgeous from the bay.

I meant to respond to this, but then RD went through the whole hacking thing and I got side tracked. So I was actually right down the street from those apartments at 2512 Ocean Blvd. When I first moved in, I was paying $700/month for my room....deal of the century for the view we had.

Always wondered with those scrappers, how do you gauge how much to lower the blade ? Just by feel or some kind of load gauge ?

This was my first time ever driving one. I was going by feel and gauging depth from a skid/wear plate on the front of the box. There is no gauge on this 1979 model. They had me doing straight passes and I got within 2 tenths by eye matching a final grade. The newer machines have gps and will do all the cut/fill for you.

This!!!!! Their crate should only just be big enough for them to turn around in. No bigger, or they have too much room. You can put something in it, to make it smaller, like a devider, or a small box or something.
It will probably stop immediately, and the owners will be thankful.
