Who knew, I was cruising through channels on Sling and suddenly I see that I have the NHRA Channel. Been watching 90s drag racing for a few hours.

Miss those days, both my kids raced for years, both were NAG riders for a time, then they slowly got other interests, and we eventually faded away from the National Scene. We traveled ALL over the US, and ran a couple Worlds races in Aus, and England.
Metro was a cool track with a cool vibe, and had an awesome snack bar.

We still frequent the Bellflower track on busy weekends to help out the Track operator.

Have fun.
Not diehard enough for NAG, but I’ll chase State and Gold Cup. Bellflower is our home track. Tammy is the $hit. Usually there on Mondays and Fridays for local racing.
I went to elementary school and Bellflower High School with Tammy (Olsen) Estep and played football with her husband Mark. He was our QB / Linebacker our senior year. I follow Tammy on FB and see her posts about the track. :)👍

Awesome, Tammy is a good friend of ours, only met Mark Sr. a couple times, he was pretty much never at the track.

Nope...I think this is the 2nd or 3rd year coming out of Covid when everything was shut down and they had to revamp the schedule and with Florida open...ya know how that goes in Ca. And the season doesn't start until March now with Pomona the 3rd race of the season. Kind of wonky because I always enjoyed having the Daytona 500 and the Winternationals back-to-back.
Think a few teams were testing in Pomona.

Spent the weekend in the Phoenix area so my son could participate in two USA BMX state qualifiers. One was at Black Mountain in Phoenix on Saturday and the other was at Goodyear BMX park on Sunday. He is only 3.5 years old so we have him signed up for balance bikes. Unfortunately balance bikes dont run for points or anything but they do offer trophies for each state qualifier event which is cool. He had a ton of fun and rode amazing. Saturday he won 1st place in all three heats so he got first place for that event. Sunday we went to Goodyear and again he did amazing. His first two heats he got 1st place. He had a little trouble during his third heat and ended up crashing pretty good in the beginning of the race. Thankfully he picked himself up and kept going and managed to pass two more kids before the end of the race which secured him 2nd place for the event. Overall it was a great weekend, he had alot of fun and his mom and I are so proud.

Good times! Going to Black Mountain for Winter Nationals? My 3 yr old is on a balance bike and my son is 7N. We were at Whittier last weekend for another CA qualifier. Both took 1st.

That's Awesome! Congrats to your kids on the 1st place finishes. Unfortunately we will not be at black mountain for winter nationals. If we had an older kid that would be going for points then I would probably go but it is just my son on balance bikes and to be honest the black mountain balance bike track is very small now that they have their own separate track. Good luck to you kids if they are going to be participating in winter nationals.

Wrangled Pops into dragging the little skiff to Newport Bay today, with the agreement we wouldn't leave till the sun was up. (He hates the cold) 😉
Perfect weather, in the low 70's, not a cloud in the sky and zero wind.
We stopped counting after 20 on these little guys.
Spotted Bay Bass . . . great little fighters on light line.
Fun times w/ Pops !

Sandpoint Idaho???
About 20 years ago I drove through there on my home from Alaska.
Stopped to get gas in my F150 . . . dudes in coveralls / F350 crew cabs at the gas station saw my California plates.
Let's just say I heard enough "F-California & F-You" . . . and I got out of there, FAST.
Those dudes weren't messing around. . . .

Those guys are still here but the area has mellowed some since then.
I bring 150 H2A Mexican’s up from Baja every October to help pack and ship strawberry nursery plants and I’m still alive. I probably should get a segment on Jackass for that.

I’m in Rathdrum. Every now and then I run into a sour person, but all in all we’ve all come from somewhere. My grandparents came to Idaho in the 1920’s from Pennsilvania, my dad was born here. My mom lived in Sandpoint for a few years. They all moved to So Cal and had me. I lived in Hayden Lake in 1970 and 1971. Some of the Old Boys up here think we are bringing our California ways with us! Rest assured, we came here to escape California Politics! Another Red Vote for Idaho!

Son took his boys to the Laker game the other night, where Lebron set the record, and got up on the scoreboard. Pretty cool moment.

Who's got the right of way ? I suppose that's depending on if he's crossing, or if you're trying to pass. 🤣
My wife goes bonkers when I do a stare off contest of wills, in the UTV, versus a big black steer blocking the road and just glaring at me and waving his horns.
This guy seems very non-confrontational, at least right at that moment.

The prep never stops when the Mexican 1000 is a couple months away. Every seal and bearing being replaced and full trans rebuild.
