Bellflower BMX Practice Night

View attachment 1001151

Good Ol' Bellflower, when I'm there, I'm typically working the Snack Bar, and my wife helps Tammy at the front window. We haven't been in a few months though. We need to get back out there.

My kids races for years, and Bellflower was our home track, my kids are now grown, and don't race anymore.

Plumbing and electric done. Sounds like the inspector and project super will be here today or tomorrow. They're saying that shotcrete is slightly delayed, so it may be 2 weeks (ah, the famous 2 weeks 😆) We'll see...

It's our home track. Usually practice/race one or two nights per week. My son fell hard at the SD State Race and has been a little afraid to get back on the bike, so we just rolled the track yesterday. It's pretty addictive. Let me know when you head back and I'll come to say hi.

I'll try and remember, if you see a guy instead of a woman working the Snackbar, that's probably me.

I grew up in Bellflower and where the race track is now is where I learned to play golf at the Muni 9 hole before they tore it down.

I also grew up with Tammy E who runs the track and played football with her husband Mark in high school.

can you explain the frame system looks like pre made corners and vertical upright fittings etc. I was expecting a metal stud or a welded frame, that looks really cool and a clean set up! Keep the pics coming!

Progress toward the finish line. Will run gas and electric tomorrow and then prep the countertop for a 1.5" epoxy / resin, reclaimed barn wood finish. BBQ is still a week out but it doesn't matter, have the insulated part that fits fine. Smoker on the left is a drop-in so no need for a dry fit. 24x24" griddle came today and was rough fit and removed. There is bar seating on both sides but can't install that until the countertop is done. Pics will explain it better, later on. View attachment 1000602 View attachment 1000603 countertop is poured.

I know, I've been becoming a fan more and more.
I have a 540 inch Blown Alcohol Keith Black Hemi being built by the guy that owns this puller right now.
He sent me these pics this afternoon. He's getting ready to run this new set up in 2 weeks. NTPA "Uncle Sam".
Its just ridiculous isn't it??

I have a 12 foot tall piece 0f #18 in the corner of my back yard holding my patio lights up. Cleared it so it wont rust. Good conversation piece. LOL

That's over 160 lbs. I could see it being a conversation piece. One of our guys has an old Toyota pickup that he drives to work, anyhow he had the back bumper made out of a #18 and had it chromed. He actually got rear ended and it fucked the car up that hit that bumper.
