Took our cart over to the village for the weekly Saturday night concert. So many people out enjoying themselves. Crazy how many golf carts show up; they actually have people directing traffic and parking for them! It's great! The restaurants were all packed as well. Love to see things rocking and rolling!

Have a blessed Memorial Day. Thanks to the Veterans who gave everything so we could enjoy things like this.

I don’t make breakfast very often. In fact I typically do not eat until about 10am. The wife and son eat cereal most mornings. I find it interesting that the once a month that I want to eat breakfast no one is interested in a real breakfast. Oh well.....I enjoy using the kitchen I built and sitting down for a meal. Just let me know when anyone wants to join me. LOL

Pops is a Korean War Army Veteran, and I like to make a good lunch for him every Memorial Day.
So I smoked a Tri-tip / reverse-sear.
Used an old recipe for simple Rootbeer Baked Beans w/ chopped onions & thick cut bacon chunks.
Grilled some corn and made Tri-Tip sammiches w/ a hit of BBQ -Sauce w/ a couple coldies.
Pops was STOKED. 🇺🇸

Good on you!!! My Dad was there also with the Army. I wish I could do that for him, he's been gone for 31 years. 😭

Sure, It's nothing fancy at all . . . just take one of those larger (not giant) cans of plain Bush Baked Beans, the one WITHOUT the extra flavors like, maple, brown sugar, bacon etc.
I chop 1/2 a yellow onion, and fry 4-5 slices of thick cut bacon . . . chop the bacon up into small pieces and throw it into the beans w/ the onions, then add 1/2 -2/3 cup of rootbeer, stir it all up in a lided pot and throw it in the oven for 45 minutes at 350 . . . I usually stir it once around the 20 minute mark & call it good.
Kinda hokey, but people seem to like it.

I told the guys we are in rattlesnake country and to be careful and use a shovel to make noise in the bushes along the sidewalk we are replacing before we put our hands next to the bushes to form. Well they thought I was full of shit, I see one of our guy bend down and then jump up and back with surprise and terror on his face🤣, he looks at me an says "Snake"🤣, I start laughing and said "Told you fucker"🤣. I walked over and saw a gopher snake and I said you are lucky. He grabbed shovel and walked the length of our job twice and made all kinds of noise in the brush. They believe me now🤣🤣 I wouldn't fukin lie🤣.

About 3 feet long
