In Colorado with my daughter playing in a national tournament. She was selected to play on Team USA for an international cup and did well. Brought home the title. Saluted the military and first responders prior to playing. My daughter was one of the first to tell her teammates to remove their hats/visors as a sign of respect.

Last night's current situation

Early Thursday morning we stopped about 40 miles south of Nashville to let the dogs out and take a break.

Got ready to leave and I told the wife I’m going to check the trailer out before we leave. Walked around it and had belts showing on one of the tire sidewalls.

Drove 10 miles to a tire shop and had both passenger side tires replaced.

Disaster avoided. If I wouldn’t have caught it I’m sure it would have blown in Nashville.

We used to go to the lake every big weekend. Fight the crowds, etc. one year my wife looks over at me while we’re dealing with big weekend bullshit misery (lines, crowds, traffic) and says, “why do we leave the beach on big weekends again?”
Ding ding ding. Light bulb went off. We’ve never left the beach again on big weekends.

After dealing with a few drunks and watching a bunch of silly shit on the water we are rethinking major holiday camping trips too.

Yup... took me till around 55 to grow past that. I still get a giggle watching all my sub 50 neighbors feel obligated to go somewhere on busiest holidays. So now I get to chill in a less busy spot while they're all gone. Fingers crossed our local billionaire gets his fireworks barge this year again! He's too smart to be traveling.... but his yacht ain't in harbor so we'll see.

The Lake we are on is pretty big. When we are out we usually comment how nice it is to have our own lake. Went out Saturday and tied up with our friends. Lake was so busy, Hundreds of boats when we normally see 5-10. Decided I will let them have the lake on holiday weekends. Stayed off the water yesterday and will go out today.

Was at my redneck oasis yesterday. The water on the Mississippi has been dropping like crazy since Friday. There was no sand showing Friday and now we have our huge beach back and was having to pull the boats back a few feet every hour. Hope everyone had a great 4th! 2 bald eagles were flying over us all day and watched them catch a big carp out of the river. Made the day that much better
