Has anyone here ever used any of these split boot style CV boot replacements?

Before I get all elbow deep in replacing the boot on the CV joint on my 4Runner, I ran across this thing.

Looks interesting, but I definitely want something that going to last, rather then fix now, and fix again, and again, and again. They don't look to be too expensive...my reservation is longevity.

Opinions...experiences?

I've heard those are craptastic. Never tried them myself.

On the flip side they are cheap and the only thing you have to lose is your sanity.

There is nothing wrong with the boots themselves. The problem is, once grit gets to the CV, by way of the torn boot, it's usually toast. If you catch it in time, great. If it's been torn for a while, I'd replace the CV or the entire shaft.
