When a father and son are close, it is a hard hit. There can be miles between, or minutes between, but it can be a powerful bond nonetheless.
Always try to keep him proud of who you are, and what you do...

Rest in peace.
My condolences to you and your family.

I knew something was bad when you didn't make the race in Florida.
You have to live what you are living to understand it, I have, as have many here. Take the time you need to do the things you need to do, and then do what you can to move forward. All the best Mike.

He showed at the Cleetus event but found out about 5 minutes after he got here. Here's a shot of Mike and his dad Stanley G. Finnegan when they visited my place 3 years back, testing for the Bluewater drags. It was clear they were very close and I consider myself lucky to have known him.

Super sad for a guy to lose his father. He saw his son grow to be a good man and that’s the best thing for a father. Condolences.

thank you all. I was able to see him briefly at the funeral home last night, which helped me a lot.

Barry-Dad looks hammered in that pic, which is why it's my favorite. I've never seen my dad drunk before. lol
That week was magic. last road trip i was able to take with my old man. getting to race in front of him was the icing on the cake.

Good times! Remember them always, I know I will. It meant a lot to me to be part of the team that weekend, and I had a pretty good feeling of the situation at the time.

Mike, I don't know you but I remember you writing a article back in the day for Hot Boat. It was basically thanking your father for taking you out to the river and turning you on to boats. When I read that article I felt exactly the same way towards my father, I even ripped out the page and gave it to him. He actually had it framed and hung it on his wall. It was lost when we moved him into a assisted living facility.

Just thought I would share.

It sounds like your father was a great guy! May he rest in peace!
