Their are many nice restaurant's in oldtown, but a nice wine tasting day is nice and many different options available. The casino is also close to downtown.

If you want a legit over nighter or weekend, give this some serious thought.

It's a winery mom and pop style that does air bnb's on the property. They basically cleared out parts of their vineyard and dropped an air stream right on the middle. They only have 3 or 4. Super private, and very nice! Complete with kitchen, fire pit, bbq, everything you need for a perfect weekend! We are trying to carve out some time to go back and do it again.

During the day, wineries, downtown, etc.

At night, dinner at Ponte or South Coast. Very close to the airstream. Quick Uber away. Then after dinner go to the Ponte cellar bar. Usually 1 person playing live music, full bar... All the top shelf anything's you could want.

Highly, highly recommend this!

Are you guys into vintage motorcycles? How about a top level winery with big European racing collection?

I've lived here 36 years, 27 years close to the wineries. Wine country is very nice. The Mexico Cafe gets very mixed reviews. I love it. Fire Fish for excellent sushi. Gambling Cowboy for a decent steak. The Great Oak at Pechanga used to be the best steakhouse in town. The last couple years it's not so great. Gourmet Italia is very good, but I don't eat there because the owner is a dick. Won't go in to detail on an open forum.

Bluewater Grille is very good for fish, but not as good as San Diego fish restaurants. Best breakfast in town is OPH. Original Pancake house. Best mexican breakfast is hole in the wall Casa de Lucy's. Best Huevo Ranchero's I've ever had.

Stick to the wine country and avoid the casino, unless you really love to gamble.

Walking around old town in the evening is always fun and if you like cigars, the local hang out is Old Town Tobacco.

Enjoy

Only place I wouldn’t support is Public House in Temecula or Downtown Public in Murrieta. The owner went out of the way to report any restaurant trying to stay open through the closures. Posted rants constantly about how virtuous he was and bragging about shutting down places who were trying to make their employees money.

Plus, his food is overrated. I loved sitting on the back patio, but we don't go anymore. Also got burned out on 1901. Enjoy Renee's cowgirl Cantina, but very small.

Wife and I went to the Original house of pancakes a couple weeks ago and will not be going back. The messed up my wifes order twice. I had Hash and eggs and a side of biscuits and gravy . Hash was from a can and the eggs had shells in them biscuits were hard as rocks. We only go to Swing Inn or Annie's Cafe from now on.

A lot of great places listed so far but would add Mo’s cafe or Toast for breakfast.

our local bar we like for appetizers and drinks is uncle Bobs.

always wanted to do the Hot air balloons but my wife wouldn’t get close to one. Maybe a good option for you.

Bummer. Actually, we have not been since before covid crap. So late 2019 or early 2020. So many places have been hurt by this. We've been trying to support the locally owned places this year. From '85 to '95 my office was on Front Street , just down from Harley and I ate at Swing Inn and Bank of Mexican food weekly. The bank has been sold and resold and has gone downhill. Forgot about Swing Inn. Luke's on Front Street was good in 2019! Haha

Forgot about Mo's. The place across the street, I think is Patsy's cafe, is decent. Never tried toast and never heard of Bob's. We quit drinking 6 years ago, so that may be it. We used to close down the best sushi bar ever, Nihon's, every other Friday night. Max, a true sushi artist trained in Japan would just feed us. He knew what we liked. The waitress (his sister) would tell us to quit buying him drinks. We were all shit faced by closing. Family owned and operated for years until the father died and they closed. I miss that place sooooo much.

Casa de Lucy’s is damn good! The swing inn has been my favorite breakfast spot. I like patsys as well. Your reviews were pretty spot on 👍🏻

Only issue with Casa De Lucy is no full bar so no margaritas. They were open for inside dining all of Covid though, so love them for that. Food is bomb!

Yeah casa de Lucy is a nice little hidden spot and the prices are great. We just had Guadalajara’s on Sunday night since we had a gift certificate food wasn’t as good as it used to be but the wife loves the skinny margaritas. Another fun place is the bar next door for happy hour they have great appetizers and are reasonably priced. It’s attached to spuntinos and is supposed to be the same owners as gourmet Italia.

It is and the reason I don't go there. The food is excellent. Just won't give that prick my money! I'd rather eat the shitty Subway sandwich next door! Hahaha Talking about Spuntino's not Lucy's. I love Lucy. She is awesome and her food is awesome!!!!
