Took a drive up to Echo Bay last weekend so my wife could take some photos for Nevada Magazine but I took a few of my own with my phone (the shitty ones) as well; enjoy. Love it out there.

Have a great Sunday evening.

In the last pic, behind the critters, is that an old culvert? It looks like some of the 20's era stonework I used to see in the San Gabriel mountains. I don't know anything about the area you were in...

Except Kenny Logins was the door man...fancy!

Hahaha, I think it's an OTR tire (off a big tractor). Its Roger's Spring near Echo Bay. I think the heavy rains washed away a lot of dirt and it showed up.

That's what I thought too, but the lugs are asymmetrical and don't come down that far. That, and the only real crack looks to be mortar to stone on the right side.

It is sad. I recently watched a YouTube video on Hite Marina on Lake Powell, it’s north of Bullfrog. It looks like it was a beautiful place when there was water there. Long launch ramp that ends at dirt today with the normal flow of the Colorado River a couple hundred yards away.

Willow Beach and Echo Bay each had a decent restaurant, bar and reasonably priced motel rooms. Now long gone at both locations.

The Hite Marina was great. Very remote. Good camping there and at Stanton Canyon. Unusable now.

Do you have a link to the video?

It was a nice little marina not to busy , dust bowl now
Yep. Exactly t
Tell us about Overton. I've always wondered about that place!

You have any pics from back then??

Thanks. 😊
You could get a little lunch at the marina then head across to the north and go up to.where the Virgin River comes in. It's was a great ride. The longest sand beach you have ever seen

The hidden city is totally out of the water now.

Hidden city??

I actually came across it surfing Google Maps one day. Looks like there is a little town just inland from where the marina used to be?

I could picture people hitting the stores there and then spending the day on the water. With the name Overton, I was thinking it must have been water ski heaven back then.

I found a nice piece of property there that a 4k sq ft garage on it! Was just looking and dreaming...

😊
