Damn, not good. If the family is good, that's a major plus. Feel bad for the owner though...that's a real nice boat.

I can't imagine the feeling of seeing my boat like that. Glad everyone was okay.

He said everyone is fine and they are waiting for Sheriff to release the boat so they can get it back on the trailer.

Would that boat be salvageable? Besides electronics.

What always scares me when driving or riding in a cat is having a sponson get caught in the trough between waves, at 40mph they would have been riding very wet.

I hope the damage is minimal and the family can get back to enjoying the river soon.

It is. He recently purchased it. Boat rolled at 40mph making a sweeping turn. Everyone is ok. Wife broke her collar bones. I just took this pic. View attachment 1028541

We had a friend roll their Eliminator in the same spot going about 40 mph. Glad everyone is ok.

That is a about 200 feet from the buckskin 90 degree turn, sharpest turn on the river, Years ago an HTM barrel rolled on the turn,

Glad to hear everyone is largely okay. Looks like its in a good spot to hook the bow eye and pull her over. I planned on heading out today but work got in the way. I would have tossed my tow boat in the water to assist. I'm sure a few people will step up to help get it on the trailer.

"Nothings broke, it just needs service!"
All kidding aside, glad they were able to walk way from that.

Single or a twin? Very easy to roll a twin if the turn arc is held too long. The inside prop will contact the center tunnel wash eventually and loose grip and the outside engine will spin the boat around. Simple to do in a twin unless you turn them the correct way.

Man…thats horrible but sounds like all will recover. Property isnt shit compared to a life.

First time I remember running around those type of bluffs / sheer walls / turns in the river, I tripped out at how the current & eddies would shift the stern around.
I remember coming off-plane once thinking either my transom was separating, or my outboard was coming loose. Then I figured out what the deal was. LOL.
My rig was just a low power little shit-box, can't imagine what the forces must be like in a real boat with real power.
Glad to hear they are alive with only a couple busted bones.
Be safe peeps.
