Yep. Belonged to a friend of mine. Was on a family vacation when the damage happened. Coming into a beach and hit a tree stump under water.

A tree stump under water did not do that!

Coming into a beach would lead me to believe it was a slow speed hit. Not saying it's couldn't have gone down that way but seems like a lot of damage. Maybe a rock?

I agree, triples make it a pain to get back in the boat. I would keep the center power head though, we all know why. [emoji27]

Yeah. New rings every hundred hours would get a little tiresome. This would be a boat I would sell all 3 280s and replace with two 300xs. It's all about the right combo.

It was repaired....

lots of rebuilding.....lots of custom part fabrication...lots of carbon fiber work
new interior.... new trailer......new fuel tanks.....

has (3) 300XS on it now.

Third motor doesn't add much on top end ...

but the acceleration is AWESOME !!!!

will run 116 with fuel and (1) 175 pound driver and (4) 220 pound passengers on board

I tried to talk him out of triples.
I told him twins would be enough.

His reply to me was: If you can put 4 on the back -- put them on there.

3 was difficult enough.

Had to recalculate the CG on the boat and relocate the fuel tanks further forward. I also lightened the boat alot. lots of vacuum bagged composite parts. Vacuum bagged most of the interior, including the floor. Very little wood left in the boat.
I had built a different Knee brace system to the transom for the 3 heavier motors
carbon fiber battery trays
Carbon fiber dash
Carbon fiber battery switch covers (4)
Carbon fiber seat mounts (removed the heavy stainless steel ones)
carbon fiber custom built Trim Pump mounts (3)
carbon fiber rigging tubes to cover wires and hoses
Vacuum bagged composite carbon fiber sun deck/rear hatch
custom carbon fiber switch panels

lots of other custom parts

It didn't take 8 years. Its been in the water for about 4 years

My health situations and difficulties slowed the process alot agreat deal of that time I was in a wheelchair.

Its difficult to workon a Mach 26 froma wheelchair.

I thought Wally Lampkin bought it off the ebay auction and repaired it.

Wally did buy it off E Bay from the insurance company who totaled it.
Sold the 280s off it then started to repair with the intention of rigging with all new stuff and put twin 300xs on it for himself but sold the boat to one of his previous customers, then the customer paid him to repair/rebuild it and put the triple 300xs on it

I will have to dig through (2) computers and at least one phone to see what I have that I can share pic wise
I have not been on this site in quite a while
but Ill put some thing up.
To everybody that has seen the boat.....and or ridden in it...They have all loved it.

Just remember we are on the East Coast and things are done a little bit different than the West Coast....
(But I personally have loved West Coast boats all of my life.)

And remember this a 2000 year model boat.....so it is almost 23 years old
and all of this work was done on a boat that was renderd as a TOTAL loss BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THAT PORT REAR CORNER WAS EXTREMELY DAMAGED all the way under the sponson and delaminated quite a bt of the fiberglass contruction
