Looking for an overnight stop at a semi cheap hotel in the Phoenix area. I’m towing a small boat, so I’d like to be able to park it in the hotel lot.

Can anyone help with a recommendation? I’d like a decent area…. 😁

Thanks in advance.

outskirts...in either direction....in the "city" yea good luck.

We stayed here waiting to move into our house in CC.

AC Hotel by Marriott Scottsdale North

I was super impressed...I'm pretty brand loyal to Marriott due to their rewards and the AC brand is epic...and this hotel had great service and gates.

Dont you want to bypass Phoenix and take the 202 south off 10 then back on the 10 south of phx.

You could consider Casa Grande at that point where all the new shopping center Is, its all new, but I have no idea how it is. I would certainly feel better there than off the 10 in the outskirts of phx. Pretty much anywhere off any interstate sucks.

Wild Horse Pass is at the intersection of the (new) 202 and 10. I wouldn’t leave my boat in the parking lot of the casino but the resort hotel is a few miles back in the desert and is really nice…top service and your boat will be fine there. Might cost a little more than a casino room but it is a lot quieter and probably better for your boat.

get past Phoenix towards Firebird raceway. The Grand hotel (Pointe South Mountain) is on I-10 and Baseline, theres a few in Chandler. Id stay out of the west side for the most part.

I stayed at the Cambria in Chandler not long ago. Plenty of parking, close to freeway, great safe area and good food walking distance. It's right off the 202

Not the greatest area IMO.

The main (but not the only) reason I’m trying to break up my drive is a protruding disk in my neck, which gets quite uncomfortable after 4 hours or so on the road. I know I started to hurt towards the end of my last to and from Parker trips.

What actually makes a little more sense is staying the night in Blythe; that would break up my drive in almost equal halves. Once I get to Phoenix, I might as well power through…

So any recommendations for a hotel with decent boat parking in Blythe? 😁

Going to be interesting as the last time I went through Blythe it was sad. So many home burnt down and commercial building boarded up. We shall see what he recommends.

Hampton Inn is at the top of the list at this point. The current go to for many corporate/contractor travelers; 👍 Best of luck to you on your drive. What is the total travel that you are doing anyway?

Seal Beach to Ontario to pick the boat up and on to Tucson. Roughly 600 miles.

If I’m powering through, I’d rather do it the second day when I’m not towing a boat.

Believe it or not, there’s a ton of hotel rooms available for that night.

Just wondering if anyone would know about boat parking up there. Maybe guys that have done the lower river run and stayed in Blythe?

Blythe Hampton is the best in town however its prob the worst Hampton around except for the old lady that runs the bfast buffet. The rest of the staff can suck a D. Sometimes it’s just full of hard-working blue-collar peeps, sometimes it’s like a Tweaker convention

Booked a room at Quality Inn in Blythe. It has boat parking, it’s right off the 10, and is around $70 cheaper than Hampton.

I figure looking for the nicest hotel in Blythe is a smartest kid in summer school kinda deal…

I’ll let y’all know if I still have a boat Saturday morning.

Have friends that stay in one of the cheaper hotels there each year right off the 10. They’ve never had a problem with their jetskis on the trailer overnight, although they lock everything up pretty well.

I’d never do it, and if I did I’d sleep in the boat. 😁

Boat is still here this morning…. 😁

My biggest concern was that I’d find a tweaker “urban camper” sleeping in the boat. Fortunately, it didn’t happen.

Quick review of Quality Inn: the room was immaculate, and the woman behind the counter was courteous and helpful. For dinner last night, I walked to Albertacos (3 minute walk). The food was pretty good, cheap, and the portion was gigantic.

I’d recommend this motel in a pinch.

Thanks for the recommendations: onward to Tucson…
