A few weeks ago i pulled the trigger on a new 1/2 ton silverado. Ended up with a loaded 4wd z71 minus leather. I wanted to do something other than a leveling kit. Instead i found a company in texas that makes a lowering kit for 4wd. Inez hot rods makes a 3/5 drop using tubular upper/lower control arms, flip kit in the rear with helper bags. Kit went on easy an truck drives bitchin, next stop order up some billet wheels to give it the true southern california sport truck feel.

I like it! I’ve always wanted to do that.

Good on you for being different. It must be popular enough if there’s hardware easily available.

They are getting there, sounds like there is somewhere in the ballpark of 15-20 trucks done nationwide

I like it a lot. Normal is boring. Good on you.

I would stay away from big wheels, and associated low profile tires... 18" maybe?

Those are factory 18s, these trucks sit just right with 22. The 24" and 26" and the trucks start to look like they belong in the parkinglot of a snoogdogg concert

Gotcha. Hard to tell what size wheels they are. I just wouldn't wan't you to go too low profile on tires and kill the comfortable ride.

I hear ya man, the problem i face is wheels wheels to clear the caliper. The new trucks have these monster calipers and because most new trucks get lifted and get a set of wheels with ridiculous offset, none of the manufacturers are wanting to do a hugher offset wheel

That's cool! The first time I saw a lowering kit for 4x4s was about 2000ish. I had a customer exporting custom car stuff. He said the high rollers in Sweden loved their AWD Blazers and Subs. Now living in an area with snow and ice, makes sense to me:p

I wish I could find a mild lowering kit for a 17 HD 2500,2-4 or 3-5

I dig it, my 13’ 2500 is -1 front and -3 rear, wish there were more parts to go lower. I just used a rear shackle and the brown keys(i believe was what they were called), had never heard of them till i got talking with NorCal Nick it left the truck with a better ride without the stink bug or going up.

I’d get ahold of Weld Wheels, they have some seriously bad ass wheels again, and i think they’d have something with the right offsets etc. these are only shown in 17 but they have a huge selection of different wheels, and the black and machined as much as i personally am over black would look ( . ) ( . )’s on your truck.

The only thing i found for those trucks were a 2" drop shackle. But being torsion bar front they can be lowered pretty easy with a set of keys

I wonder if a flip kit could work. Find a kit that has a saddle to hold same size axle housing and go for it, i used inez hot rods for this kit and they seem to like to do the exotic stuff, maybe they know bbn of a saddle that will handle a dana 60/80 housing

On this topic, is Mothers still around? It was a parts supplier in city of industry or irwindale area that sold parts and also did work like lowering trucks. Just curious

Weld is in business? My forged stronger than shit welds cracked years back.
I towed my toy hauler with these. Lucky i saw a funny spot while cleaning. Then looked behind the spokes with a mirror. All 4 were broke

Actually it rides same as stock, since it is upper and lower control arms with stock strut and spring the ride stays the same. Did loose some turning radius though
