Del Mar via the train

If you're taking the train from Riverside/OC to Del Mar, which train do you use? Amtrak? Coaster? Metrolink?

I used to take the coaster quite frequently years ago to Solana Beach from Fullerton, good times :thumbup:

I believe the Metrolink goes all the way to San Clemente and you can bus it to Del Mar. At least that's what my Mom always tells me. And she/we use it to and from their house to mine in Corona. She lives near the Laguna Niguel station right there off the 5 near Crown Valley. I think there is one more stop and the end of the line for Metro after that in San Clemente. I'm sure Amtrak can get you there too.

They're all the same I think?

I just use the Amtrak app, it calls all trains headed down the I-5 corridor "Pacific Surfliner" regardless of what's indicated on the side of the railcars.

Definitely the absolute best way to head to SD :thumbup:
