Departure times from Havasu on sundays 10 vs. 40 and why

Terrible traffic going home at noon last weekend, 9:00 oclock, 1 mile, 500' above, you are aprox 30kts faster

I can’t stand sitting in the car. I personally think anything longer than a 2 hour drive requiring flying but my hubs disagrees. Lol. Plus, the drive is so boring. I get excited when I see Barstow when we are coming back from the river. Something to look at and only 1.5 hrs to home.

I use to try and leave by 8 am whenever i went to havasu or river on bigger weekends or when wife kids didnt go.Always made it to fullerton quickly now in west valley phx area it will be an even smoother drive no matter the time i leave.

I’ve been going home Monday morning at 3am for that same reason. Tired Monday, but beats the bad traffic.

I also love that I get a full day on the river/lake on Sunday (which is ALWAYS the nicest day, no crowd, with zero wind!)

Nope...........Sunday’s are awful on the water. You all need to leave early AM on Sunday and avoid the lake.

FWIW, it's no better (maybe worse) coming back from Yuma on the 8 to the 5 . . . I got so pissed once from staring at the sun trying to get home parked on the 5 fwy for hours, that I had my entire front windshield tinted with 3M ceramic tint. When I got home that night, my eyes felt like I had been watching someone arc-weld for 8 hours. Brutal.

Left havasu today at 2:30 to the 40. Nothing until the stopapalloza at Victorville and the slow roll down the hill. Went 60 to 57 to the 5. Home in 5:45. Better. But still, Fuck!!!

I was always grateful to just make it home- no car/trailer trouble makes for a great end to a great river trip. The crowded freeways are just somthing we came to expect and for the most part, we knew where the back up would be and just putted along like everyone else.

Vegas is BACK, and so is weekend traffic. I often drive back from HB on an early Sunday. At 9:30 yesterday it was slowing north of Baker! AT Stateline backed up for 5-7 miles, you need to leave by 0800 on a Sunday to avoid it all from Vegas. Wonder in our lifetime if Cali will ever make I-15 into 3 lanes, been 2 lanes for 75+ years.

Ca is too busy adding lanes in so cal then tearing it up again. Do they’ll never got the 15 widened.

We left Havasu at 7:00, quick stop in Barstow and in Woodland Hills by 11:30. Usual traffic in Hesperia over the hill, crazy fog.

I always dreaded the drive from Whitewater to RSM when coming back from the river or Ocotillo. The drives were turning into 5-6 hour drives on non holiday weekends. So happy I don't have to deal with that anymore.

The traffic through havasu is the worst part of our drive . Its almost worth the risk to go across the 95 through vidal to the 40 . 2.5 to 2.75 hours from parker to henderson no matter what time of day .
