nice, i'm getting excited to get out there again.

Just grabbed a set of new Autometers and oils to freshen the boat up. I'm going to try to go out the Sunday before I think. Hopefully i can get some time on the water before its too trashed to be in a small boat.

This is awesome for the city and our favorite pass time.

So, with that big a crowd coming in to Havasu, what do you suspect we will see shortages on? Premium gasoline? Bottled water cases? Beer? Ice?

Some previous years DS was maxed out with 250 registered boats, havasu was thriving with four times that in spectators.

Shits about to get real in town. Lots of really nice hardware already here pre running for super cat fest and the poker run.

Looking forward to seeing it all come together.

At one time in the mid to late 2000’s desert storm was the biggest poker run in the country as far as registered boats and events (street party, poker run, shootout and even races one or two years).

If all goes as planned! ... I'll have a Rescue team onboard! or be a safety boat! (If I can find someone for the second seat?)

Yup, there were a few that I remember Jim saying he just couldn’t add anymore boats. [emoji106]

Private account. Doubt it but can’t verify.

Coors light has been a pain in the ass even during the “off season”. I’d guess that’s only gonna get worse.

Seems like a possible match[emoji85]. But I think it’s another hidden character [emoji12].

He and Angelina flew into havasu back in ‘05 or ‘06 and were seen at javalinas, martini bay, heat, kelly’s coffee and ihop before disappearing a day later. It was said to have been a stop/destination for pilots license.

Tank, what’s up with that list? I see Kenny G running his MTI 43 at the Zoo and it’s all over IG but he’s not on the list for the event. 😜

Not all participants are listed, they gave the option on registration to be listed or not.

My expectations are not going to be very high for any service and I'm going into the whole week with the outlook of "I'm on vacation, I have time, I'm patient, it doesn't matter..." LOL Only way to get through how busy it's going to be.

Funny, i might comment on their social media on occasion. The whole operation is run for shit. If they spent the money on servers instead of models that go to trade shows or DJ’s they’d be in great shape. Their problem isn’t acquiring customers it’s keeping them.

I think I've stepped foot in Pirates maybe 3 times and ordered a drink one time in October, during the scamdemic when there was maybe 6 people in the whole place. I don't really understand why people go sit down in there for lunch on a saturday, sunday or big event. I have sandwiches, water, beer and drinks on the boat. Not worth the headache to me. I'd rather run to Havasu springs or even go over to the casino....Less traveled.

I think I've learned over the years though to just slow down. Don't need to be on the water RIGHT NOW. Don't need to rush to get beer and ice and food and shit. I can wait a bit for an open gas pump. It just comes with the territory out there during these events. Now thats not to say I don't need to constantly tell myself to relax, it'll happen when it happens but when you're not trying to be on a schedule it makes things SO MUCH EASIER, especially when you're waiting for daughter, wife and two boys to get ready to go. LOL

Saw "Lick This" on water last weekend. First time in a long time.
They used to haul ass up to the Needles bridge on a regular basis. Damn, that’s a bad ass boat.

We’ve tried it off and on over the years hoping it gets better. Doesn’t matter if there are 6 tables or it’s packed the service is crap. I get that it’s gotta be tough for them and Topock to hire but holy shit figure it out. Agreed on the Springs. That’s our Sunday go to. Food is good, service is way better than the others. Wonder what the Springs service would be if they only hired young ladies? I appreciate the Hooters business model but i appreciate cold beer and good food more. Damn I’m getting old.

Great for the business around town. But the lake is going to be a complete shit show...

Can you imagine all the new boaters cruising around at the same time? Hope all who go on the water be safe and stay vigilant.

I am a little nervous how busy it's going to be. We're gonna have our boys on the boat with us. I think we'll stay arms distance and observe. I'm guessing lots of trips to the south end of the lake to chill.

The two worst times getting through Thompson bay were: Last Desert Storm. Was brutal trying to get to the start line. Hell is was crazy floating at the start. Only time worse was the Trump parade on Memorial Day. We spent the morning dodging everyone. When it came time to go through the channel and it shut down i pulled the plug. We pulled off the water and called it a day.

I could only imagine how hard it would be to find local (competent) servers that could help for one or 2 weekends out of the year in such a small town.

""Nothing makes me more nervous than to share the water with someone who's real proud of their driving ability."" << Since this Quote was directed at me! From -- the Pesky Varmint -- If and when you see me out there! -- Best just to give me a wide berth! ... I'm very unpredictable! 🤔 😑

I was going to say the Trump parade had to have the most actual boats on the water.
I understand the restaurants will be busier than the trump parade but doubt the water will be as crowded.

All good, found places to hang on parade weekend, will find spots on this weekend as well.

Probably just have the pontoon out on the water on Friday. I enjoy doing the poker run but with CCs running in it the water has been getting worse. Maybe do a run early morning and off before the run. IDK - regardless the water will be busy. Stay safe everyone.

No! that quote was from a "Pesky Varmint" :) ....... You did say you were a bit nervous though! 😆

AH! Gotcha. I was confused.

Well, I should say cautious, not nervous. I don't want to see any tragedies. The lakes gonna be a zoo though. I'm glad we're staying through the week in between events to get some mellow time boating during the week with out the massive crowds (hopefully).

Yeah, when you stop at Vons or the Chevron at the corner of McCulloc and Havasu Ave Saturday mid morning, you may run into problems LOL 😆 😆
He'll have the town bought out by then! :)
