Took the new 28 Daytona into see Misty Rich and her team at Bob Moses Ceramic in Lake Havasu. Blows my mind when I see what I thought was a shiny boat to begin with. Crazy shine, all the minor scratches cut and buffed out.

Impressed again, next up is the motorhome.

Isn’t ceramic coating the point to make it easier wash It on your own. $40 is not crazy but I’m sure they would be able to knock it out in 30min after the coating. That’s like $60 an hr.

yes, but only kept that boat a month, new owner said its awesome, transom soot wipes right off

It is definitely more than 300. I mean, I am sure someone out there charges 300. But, I have heard this usually means simply throwing the coating on. But, that is not proper. The surface has to be prepared, cut, polished, all residue removed and then coated for it to be done properly. That is a lot of man hours. Definitely more than 300 and more into the thousands.

the person had just had their boat done and talked to 3-4 detail shops before picking the one he went with - no I don’t know who he picked.

His 28 Magic was around 2k

I had my camaro done for $750, it was brand new

$80 a foot seems to be the norm, also depends how much correction work needs to be done

I do paint correction and ceramic coatings on the side. I use CQuartz UK 3.0 coatings. Half the cost is based on what kind of coating they are using. The shops using Modesta or OptiCoat or any of those “boutique” coatings are going to charge you a lot. I’m not saying it’s not worth it, but not everyone needs a 5 or 7 year coating for their application.

Here is a car I finished over the weekend! I ceramic everything, all surfaces including wheels, glass, door jambs and motors. Correction is key, the car will look like shit if not corrected properly prior to coating. Nor will the coating last. This was a new car and it still needed 3 steps of correction.

The boat looks GREAT! I saw two of the boats they have already done in the water a couple weeks ago when I was in town for not Desert Storm or DCB Regatta weekend and they looked amazing. Thinking about having my DCB done by Misty's team at Bobs this Winter.
