Went to do an oil change on the wife’s car and can’t find anyone that stocks this stuff. Is there a comparable type/brand that isn’t $54 a jug and have to be ordered online? I already stocked up on filters. Tried Walmart and they don’t have anything diesel and def safe in a 5w30.

What is the oil spec cited in the owners manual? Euro diesels are picky about their oils. I can get the good stuff from IMC or SSF if you tell me what you need.

I might try this stuff. Apparently I didn’t read the fine print and on the back where it said it’s diesel friendly when I was at Wally World

According to Pennzoil...they do not offer a product suitable for that engine...

Castrol might...although I don't see a reference to the C2 spec, but it is an approved product engines requiring oil that meets the Jag/LR factory STJLR.03.5003 spec.

Are you thinking it is 54 bucks a quart or something? Because 54 bucks for that 5 liter jug isn’t bad at all.....mobil 1 esp is as expensive as that.

My old 7.3 truck got rotella but This is what my wife’s modern european diesel gets.

Anything in a jug is cheaper than by the quart. I’ve been running Amsoil 5w 30 in my wife’s diesel Cruze for 120000 miles, it had issues with the diesel particulate filter running mobil 1. If you order it in a big enough container you can get the cost down to where it is reasonable. I ended up deleting the car when she changed jobs and cut the 50 mile commute to 3 miles. I’m running the Pennzoil euro L in the winter and the amsoil in the summer. 2 changes a year. The cheap stuff ends up with condensation that doesn’t get heated out in the winter, ive seen someone with a long commute run the amsoil over 50000 miles in a deleted Cruze and the oil still tests fine.

My 7.3 runs on Delo. I won't run anything else.

I tried using Delvac(mobile1) once because my store was out of Delo...... and thats when all my oil leaks started.

Just bad luck? Maybe. But ill never run that shit again 🤔

Rotella T4 is good stuff. I ran it in my 7.3 and dirt bikes( it’s jaso ma certified). I know a lot of guys that use it in everything. And it’s cheap.

You’re missing one thing. My two Fords are a little higher. These work great.

It’s those 5W 30W that have you by the nut sac.
From Walmart I use in all our diesels;

Their are lower numbers you can use that won’t hurt.
I used rotella in all the equipment and OTR vehicles for the demo company I worked for. Never a problem on any of the machines (loaders,excavators and company trucks) When I was not on a machine or running a demo job I serviced equipment. You want leaks use a semi-synthetic. Just my experienced opinion. Just an add-on all our equipment was American Made.

I use Rotella T4 15W40 in my L5P Duramax, and i used it in my LBZ and LLY. It seems to keep the "duramax tick" to a minimum.

I have used mobile 1 TD on my duramax since going synthetic. I was amazed how clean the engine was when I did head gaskets at 200k miles. No sludge or build up. Looked like it had 15k miles on the top end. Same with the bottom end when I put the ppe oil pan on. Highly recommend Mobil 1 TD.
