Anyone have one? I’m looking to trade my Escalade as soon as the motor replacement is done and the Ecodiesel looks pretty appealing. I’m reading reports that it can get 27 MPG and has the same towing capacity as the Hemi.

How is the acceleration with the Ecodiesel? My last Ram had a hemi and that sucker hauled ass for being such a big truck.

I would consider a different truck. Have heard better reviews on the diesel titan but not a fan of either.

I considered one when I bought my Ram. I went with the Hemi. With the additional cost and how much more diesel cost then gas( at least here) I figured it up to be like 350k miles before I broke even on the deal. Also the hemi tows everything I need to with plenty to spare.

Had a 17, gave up on it after 18 months, new fuel system, new def system, stranded me roadside three times, and Dodge was a biatch about the warranty. I was over the 36,000 and they wouldnt budge on working with me, if I recall i was into it for about $6000. Loved the truck, got 25-27 mpg on the highway, but I was sick of it being at the shop.

Had a 15. Sold it once it got out of warranty. Operating cost are too high, it offset the money saving form the added fuel economy. Plus the truck was falling apart.

No, no and no. Bad track record and major repair $$$ if our of warranty. Not much of a powerhouse for towing either, i'd stick with a gasser and deal with the MPG

I have a 2018 that's been getting a new motor for 2 months now. Had 16k miles and they said it punched a hole in the block. As soon as I get it back it's going up for sale.

Friend has one and he says it gets 25 mpg (minus 2 for B.S. factor). You should probably plan on 23 mpg.

Since you’re already familiar with replacing engines, it’s the perfect truck for ya [emoji12]

Seriously I would look elsewhere.

The 2020 has a revised engine, the previous ones did 0-60 in 9 seconds...you won’t mistake it for a Hemi, which does it in 6.

Get the hemi with the 8 speed and 3:92 and rear gear. You should be able to get 18mpg or more.

I had the 6 speed and 3:55 gear and 1” larger tires and Way heavier tires and I got 16mpg at 80mph

A small diesel in a half ton is all about mileage. It either gets great and you can see a return or it doesn't. That being said diesel in a half ton is a waste of money in its current form

Look at the f 150 that diesel is basically a Range Rover unit with ford trans. My Range Rover diesel is fabulous x19. Always 30+ on highway with awd.

You’re definitely increasing your chances of a second lemon in a row with that diesel Ram. I have heard 0 good things about that engine. Probably the biggest flop since the 6.0 Powerstroke.

I’ve heard a lot of people complain about that engine. My buddy had one in a 2017 Ram, loved it. Just got rid of it since a drunk driver went into him head on. He had it tuned by Banks and it really opened it up.

My dad has one in a Jeep GC and loved it. He had to have some shit done to make it smog compliant (like the VW issue) and now it sucks. Other than that, it was flawless. He also had a flawless 6.0 and the current owner has close to 250k on it and it runs great. I guess my dad is just lucky lol

My brother has one and loves it. Tows a 21’ tournament bassboat all over California. Camper shell w a carpet kit and he camps out often. I borrowed it to take my mastiff to the vet and it was sweet. I think his is a Laramie.

friend has one, he was getting 17 mpg towing vs my 13 mpg towing in my 2500 6bt. He likes the power but he was coming from a Tacoma so any full size is going to be an upgrade.

Yep. The neighbor kid had a hemi 8 speed with the 3:91, rowed his toyhauler just fine, hauled ass when not towing. He averaged 17 by the math,(not towing) and he had a heavy foot.
