Fawk. You’re a badass.
Or, just stupid. I know which way I’m leaning.
You need to move, and if I ever find myself CEO of a giant ass company my shit will be on the line to make you HR director because the world would be a much better place
yup…going to look at property in New River AZ next month.

I shouldn't do this, but if you lived in Texas, you coulda opened your front door armed with an AR-15, and squeezed off as many rounds as required to send the thieves to Hell, even if they were driving away.

The cops wouldn't arrest you, and the grand jury would return a no bill on any charges. No income tax isn't the only good thing about Texas.

First off glad your OK and after you heal up a bit you'll ready to fight another day!!!

A couple months back I had a similar situation with a slightly different outcome. I just got out of bed 7:00 am on a Saturday morning, I just happened to look out my side window and saw a vehicle parked next to my neighbors Honda CRV. I immediately new what was happening, yelled to my wife to call the cops as I ran out the door in just my shorts, sounds familiar. I was yelling at the top of my lungs (my adrenaline pumping) the moment I ran out of the house and went behind the vehicle to get to the perpetrator. Going behind the vehicle was the smartest thing I could have done to avoid serious injury or even worse. Although the guys got away my main goal was to chase the guys off before they could get the cat and not get hurt in the process, goals accomplished. These guys were very quick and that license plate # I was able to remember didn't matter the plate was stolen as most probably are.

Here's a pic of the cat I saved. Take a look at the front of the cat and you'll see how close they were at bagging another cat. In case you guys are wondering what they're using to cut the tubing in a timely fashion, I later found this blade in my front yard.

I now have a baseball bat next to my front door that is conveniently located. It's not only for a little personal protection but to also break every window in the next perpetrators vehicle aka easy identification purposes just in case they have stolen plates...

Wow that's crazy! Glad that you are relatively OK, considering that it could have been much worse.

Also, what camera model is that? It kicks ass, much better than the Arlos I have around my house.

Damn glad your ok! Chasing after thieves being unarmed never usually turns out good.

In lbhsbz case those perpetrators had a loaded weapon (and he's lucky to be alive) and by the looks of that video they were trying to use it. These guy's have no regard for life and will kill anyone in there way, even for a stupid catalytic converter.

These guys have nothing and have nothing to lose. For the hard working guy's we have plenty and plenty to lose. Take action and hurt or injure one of these ass clowns and you'll find yourself in court or worse. I mentioned earlier that I have a baseball bat at my front door. It's not to used to tee off and injure these guys heaven forbid, it's for a little self defense and to break out a window or two...

My D44 longside inner axle was not by the door where I usually keep it…otherwise I’d have grabbed it. Gotta find that

I know this isn't your first go round with this crap, sad to see in my hometown, but be damn careful confronting these turds. They go nothing to lose, they are running hot plates or ones that are out of the system, and again...they got nothing to lose. Do what ya gotta do, but be damn careful. If I lived in an area where that shit was going on I think I'd weld a chunk of 1/4 inch plate under the Cat and the pipe to make it not worth the effort...and move.
These clowns are doing this for a livin', every night. The beat cops should know the cars, of course petty theft in most cases and they cannot pursue anymore, and the DA won't file...so...yeah.

Nice, and get better quick! I hope they're able to go after these MFs now after trying to hit you with a vehicle. They might even dust the car for fingerprints now that a "serious" crime has been committed.

I'm glad you didn't shoot them or bash their head in with an axle. As much as we'd all like to watch that video, I don't think it would be smart in CA lol.

Man I got a lot of questions.. How are they cutting off cats without waking up the entire neighborhood? That's gotta be loud AF? I didn't hear anything in the video other than you saying "Hey Mother F'er".

How did the dude get out from under the car so quick and into his car to hit you? I would've thought he would be stuck under the truck when you ran up on him.

Sucks society is coming to this.. If you shoot at them, you are going to be in a world of shit, so I definitely wouldn't do that. In clown world, the victims are the problems, not the thieves.

No idea why my camera didn’t pick up the sawzall…my neighbor’s did, but no video footage.

There was a driver and at least one, I think 2 other guys in the back seat. Didn’t take long to roll out from under the truck and back in the car

The only thing to do is move out of this fucking state, which I’ll be doing soon.

RD these guys are in and out in under 30 seconds. Cordless sawzalls cut through exhaust pipe in seconds. By the time you hear the noise, wake up and go outside, they are usually long gone. Happens more often than you think. It sux because the repair bill can sometimes cost several thousand dollars.

The more I think about this (every time I try and fucking move...lol) I think about how stupid it was. Had I went after them with a firearm, my life would be over. Had I went after them with a bat/crowbar/etc...then they've got me on assault with a deadly weapon. Had I just sat there doing nothing, I'd be a fucking pussy. I couldn't sit and do nothing, but I wasn't really sure what I'd do when I got there...the only thing I had on me was my phone and a Kershaw knife. I saved some parts I guess, but the guys will never be caught, and now I'm kinda fucked up for a few weeks at least.

I hate being "stuck" and helpless.

At least you did "something", not what you wanted to do, not what those POS thieves deserved (like death), but you took it on the chin.

You were honestly lucky not to have had a weapon close, with your blood up it would have been easy for you to put your family in danger of loosing you.

Not because you would be in danger, but because our justice system is completely fucking retarded in CA. And it gets worse daily it seems from the royal decrees from that Nazi fuck Grewsom. You can't protect yourself or your family/property.

Congrats on the decision to move, I'm doing all I can to do the same.

Went through a similar deal just a few weeks back. I was armed, wasn’t hit (they tried) but knocked a window out of the car with the butt of the gun on one of their passes. Hindsight, should have just stayed in bed after the initial exchange, but that’s not my style, nor am I that smart.

We have met a few neighbors following the mess, the cops and I are now on first name level, they respect me, as I do them. I doubt the idiots will be back, they didn’t like the laser sight on their buddies heads, and their window getting smashed by the fat hillbilly in the middle of the road.

DAMN! Glad you are ok, that could have been the end for you. I packed up and moved from Phoenix because this type of stuff is ONLY getting worse and deadlier.

You need to read this guys PDF to get the right cameras. There are facial recognition and license plate ID cameras. Cheaper and simpler than you think. Go to www.IPCamtalk.com I only run Blue Iris with Dahua and Hikvision on a dedicated PC. Nobody slips by...

ONLY Dahua and Hikvision. Dahua 5442 are the best all around.

I have 6 of these. 3 for the house and 3 for the shop. They have worked good for the last 2 years,

I know I can't stop anyone when I am 850 miles away. All I can do is document what happens for insurance and police.

Today seems like a good day. Appears I’ve turned the corner. Minimal pain in the foot (for the time being).

…which is good, cuz I’ve got shit to do.

The number of nerves in one's hands and feet is amazing. I guess it's because humans use touch sensing and fine motor skills to do precision things with our hands and nerves in the feet are the front line of what allows you to walk.

So when those extremities are injured, and I mean little things like a paper cut or a stubbed toe, it's amazing how much it freekin' hurts. I'm thinking your foot must hurt like a MF'er. Glad to hear it's getting better.

Once I'm on it, it's OK...it's the transition from horizontal to vertical that's kicking my ass....as the foot gets lower, blood head pressure builds and it feels like I'm getting stabbed in the foot with ice picks.

I have an exceptionally high pain threshold...except for scrubbing open wounds mostly...that turns me into a crying pussy real quick.

A buddy of mine has his uncle living with in him right now and his uncle had a similar thing happened to him. The first time the thieves cut his catalytic converter off his truck and nobody heard them. The second time when they came back my buddy and his uncle heard them and woke up. My buddy's uncle almost got run-over by the thieves so they said fuck it and got into my buddy's truck and chased them. The thieves decided to up their clot to a major felony and started firing their weapons at my buddy and his uncle. Fucked up deal, two bullet holes in my buddy's truck one in the front bumper and the other one in the passenger door. The uncle was about two or three inches from death since the bullet was just above the door handle.

The lesson here is, shoot from the porch

I'm still fucked up. Foot started feeling better, I went down on Friday and got X-rays as requested by the surgeon for the post op...which should have been tomorrow. X-rays shows the bone isn't attached at all. The discussed fixing the toe with 2 pins or possible removal...depending on what they see when they got into it. I thought it was pinned...I guess not. They put me under to give me a few stitches. I was fucking livid....still am. Had an appt. with a Kaiser Podiatrist on Monday and after looking at the x-rays, he saw 2 more fractured toes which were never brought up before, and kinda laughed and shook his head at the previous work that was done. Too late to re-attach the joint at this point, so it's gotta come off. Right now it feels like one of the spring door stops we used to play with to annoy our folks when we were kids...and that ain't gonna work. Kaiser doc wanted to wait to see what the original surgeon said during our appt tomorrow before we made a decision as to what to do, but I got the call today from their office that my appt. has been cancelled since I already saw a doc at Kaiser. I was told the reason he only sewed it back up is because he's not a foot specialist and didn't feel comfortable pinning the toe. Well...why the fuck did he come in the same room with me then?...asshole. Probably cancelled the appt. because he's afraid I'd break his fucking jaw when I got there

Now we get to start this hobbling around shit all over again...

They need to go after the scrap yards that will buy these things from the tweakers. I would much rather see all cats
go un-recycled than this shit going on all the time.

I think the solution here is straight pipe your truck and don't register it. If you get pulled over show them the police report and say i can't afford to continue replacing this equipment that continuously gets stolen due to lack of enforcement to protect it. Enough people do that, and there will be changes.

...or you can leave all that great weather in your dust

I asked a local officer exactly this question once. His response was the thief makes between $60 and $200 and takes all the risk. The scrap yards pay 50% value so they also make $60 to $200 with zero risk. Why would they stop when all the thief needs to say is they are a scraper and provides legit ID.

Many moons ago when i was teen, i use to race motocross and one night after ascot we were to tired to unload the bike so we backed the truck under my dads window with the tailgate against the wall and went to bed thinking it was safe. I always heard my pops was a scraper, but this reminded me why i never talked back to him. Middle of the night 4 Samoan guys lift YZ250 out of truck like its a toy, Pops took after them in nothing more a pair of white underwear, he returned no worse for wear a few minutes later with the bike.

Toe got removed yesterday…remarkable less pain last night and today. Hopefully by next week I’ll be past this.
Going to ask a question that seems odd: were you under general anesthesia for that? When the lopped of the stump of my ring finger, I was not. Only time in my adult life I passed out 🤮
BTW, those guys have some cool stainless pruning shears! Need to get some.

Dunno....in pre-op they said local...only sedatives, 02, and numb the foot. The last thing I remember is looking up at the lights in the OR thinking a couple of those would be badass in my shop, then I woke up and was hungry. Sure seemed like general to me.

The only times I've passed out is when I'm getting metal cut/picked out of my eye....sitting there with my head tilted back, about the 3rd or 4 time the lense snap back into focus usually does it

They probably hit you with a "twilight" and then a local.
