Hi all,
I've noticed on some Schiada's I've seen the drain plug hole in the hull doesn't have a metal sleeve. The plug appears to be installed in a drilled hole thru the fiberglass and wood transom.

Any thoughts as to why and should a sleeve be installed?

I don't believe the wood goes all the way to the floor, so the plug is just in glass no wood. My Spectra is like that, now my Sanger has a hole thru the wood and no sleeve, its coated with resin and been like that since new in 77.

My 73 Sanger with wood transom just had the plug in the wood. Paranoid with water eventually getting into wood so I spread on the 5200 and inserted a sleeve. Wouldn't worry about it at all if was all glass. no wood.
