We just spent last weekend there and boated up the lake Michigan coast for lunch at Bay Harbor, that is one of maybe 10 big homes with huge boat garages on Round lake. Bay Harbor homes are crazy with similar garages!

These homes are just summer homes, retreats for the folks that can afford what you see. Weather not an issue they have homes in warm areas for the fall-spring.

FYI there is a cove very close to my house on a Lake Michigan Bay, the houses are from the 1860s-1890s all updated white sand beaches, etc. Private association family owned homes for the past 150 years. Talked to one owner (is a customer) I asked him what he did for a living, his response was priceless." I have never worked a day in my life, we stay here 3 months leave end of August go to our Lake Tahoe estate till New Year, then to our Malibu house till the end of May then back to MI"

There's a beautiful Chris-Craft Constellation in one photo, a full wood model, maybe early 60s vintage. I'd love to own one, but the hole in the water would be awfully large.

Seen it at Boyne Thunder, our friends have a place about 20 mins by boat from it. Pretty cool houses on the lake there.

Michigan is amazing, but you'll freeze your ass off 4 months of the year desert resident.

If I could afford a house like that, I could afford a heated shop to lock myself in come snowfall...and learn about snowmobiles!
