Finally got around to getting a 23P Rev4 for my boat. Looking forward to seeing how it performs and what it does for my cruising RPM labor day weekend. That being said, it gets VERY close to the pickup for my drive shower. I'm wondering if I should cut it shorter, or if it won't be an issue. Could that proximity cause the pickup to not get water, or cause the prop to perform abnormally? Thanks in advance guys.

I would have to cut 1/4 “ off just because.
Shorter is better for the water pick up and no reason to stick down that far
Quarter inch off my drive shower would have probably prevented it from digging into my drive

I don’t have a picture but when I turn the wheel all the way right or left it digs into the drive. I think John had the same issue but fixed it
Are you talking about the hat on top of the drive?

dont think there will be a problem, i run rev4 and 1/2" prop to pickup, and the drive looks new!

It Should just protrude the cav plate with a boloney cut to pick up the water. If it is too low it will cause slight prop cavitation.

Only problem with shortening the pick up is , when you trim the drive out , it won’t pick up enough water .

You need a bigger drive shower pickup...can never have too much water!

Probably won't be an issue since this hull doesn't even like positive trim anyway (at least with my setup and the Bravo 24P I had)

I cut (a section)off the back area of the hat and tig welded back together. The hat was too long and hit the stationary part on the turns
Took off about 1/2 “

I had about the same clearance on my prop to my drive shower and it was never an issue all summer long. However on the dam dam run I noticed my drive shower all tweaked when we pulled the boat out of the water. No marks on my prop like it had it it but it definitely hit something and bent it to make it sit at a 45 degree angle. Maybe just make sure you have about a half inch of clearance incase the prop flex's?

part of me says clearance is clearance and run it. the other says that the prop has some deflection and to cut the pick up tube back a bit.

Mine has 2 pickups. 100% drill free install. Zero clearance issue.
Sprays on top and sides of drive.
Forget the brand but I thinks its like some guys name.

I think Teague mentioned one he sets up aerators for 6 drives at least 1/4 out. as the blades flex some. I would would think it would be the same
