DS first timer....How would you play it???

So it looks like we have a last minute opportunity to attend DS this year. Arriving late Wednesday evening, sounds like boat may end up in the street fair on Thursday and we will be on the water Friday/Saturday. I've been persuaded to opt out of the poker run although I've enjoyed past runs I've participated in...I realize this one is a different beast however so I'm good just floating and watching with a beer in hand. We have a few friends that will be down and on the water who have been there in the past so will be following their lead.

What else is a "have to see" while there? Night life places to be? Do's and dont's?

Wake up early Friday morning get breakfast and cocktails, get in the boat and don't stop drinking. Also take your 14-18 year old son/daughter, or buddies kid to drive the boat. And lastly bring a a spotter so you don't get run over while traveling on the lake.
