Ah the good old days of Pro Stock........Dyno Don, Grumpy Jenkins, Ronnie Sox....

Those were the days I decided I had to have a first Gen Camaro. Originally wanted a '69 Camaro,
but ended up buying this '67 instead from a friend that had too sell it back in 1977. Was red w black stripes.
Still have it but gone from Pro Street to Pro Touring over the years. 620 HP LS3 by Mast Motorsports in TX
Try to drive it every couple of weeks.

It must make your balls enlarge when you get in and turn the key.

It's a beautiful ride.

Bob Sebring of Torrance Service Center had one of Don's aluminum block cammers down there. Some crackhead dentist had it in a supergas T-bird and forgot to shift the powerglide form 1st to 2nd. Went through the lights beyond the Autometer tachs capabilities. It came apart in a splended fashion. The head was in two pieces. He finally got it back together and now the dentist's son is putting it in a street fairlane I believe it was.

Oh it does bro....takes me back to the days it was my daily driver. I got it during my sr high school summer
It was a Z28 clone with 12.5:1 302, Muncie 4 speed with Hurst Super Shifter and a line Loc with a 4.56 12 bolt rear
and crappy 4 wheel drum brakes that almost killed me on multiple occasions. I paid $2,500 in '77

Every time I drive it these days, it brings back those memories of cruising thru the local drive thru food joints of the day.
Kinda American Graffiti-ish. Only us old farts remember those days 🤣
Here's a few of the early project pics. what was going to be a 4 wheel disk brake upgrade project and turned into.....FUCK IT....LETS DO THE WHOLE CAR 🤣😁

Bones will appreciate the amount of work and time it takes to go from stripping paint to the LA Roadster Show. I wasn't in the show, just a display in Mark Lopez's booth next to his '55 which won Best of Show for interior that year.

Some people shouldn't have nice things. That is truly sad, the motor didn't hurt anyone.
Now, a damn dentist on the other hand...

There's just certain things that deserve respect no matter what.

Gm's 302, 409, 396 and 427

Chrysler's 392 and 426 hemi's, 426 and 440 max wedge

Ford's boss 302, 351 and 429, 406, 428SCJ and all 427's and 429SCJ

Respect earned, respect given😉
and for the Mopar guys, I’d respectfully throw in the 340 Six Pack.

I'm digging the big ass rear sway bar. Cars like yours should be driven in the manner which they were conceived for, ripping the roads and hauling ass.

Back in 1989 I saw a 427 cammer Ford in a Southwind Tunnel jet with GMC 12/71 and the blower was backwards with the pulley running off the input shaft of the jet drive. Boat was a lightweight build, hull weighed less than 400 pounds, base gel was black and had about 8 colors in the color scheme, all in gel. The owner had a ski pylon mounted on the rear of the supercharger, craziest engine set up I have every seen. Would have loved to hear it run! He said it was his ski boat, but would do about 140 in the quarter mile.

Looks cool Tom, very cool 🤙 You do good at keeping your rides/boats and not selling them, wish I had done the same, like my 63 Plymouth 426 I bought new back in the day or my 67 Shelby 427 Side Oiler for 2 of them but hey they were fun huh? I saw Scotty over the holiday at Bretts house for turkey, talked about you a little haha.
Didnt mean to hijack the thread but I was pretty tight with Nicholsens engine builer/tuner, Earl Wade God rest his soul, when he had Speed Enterprises so I had to mention him, really knew his stuff ;)

That's awesome Bobby. I PM'd you yesterday, just saw your message that you were Travis and Brett's dad 😁 🤣
Don't I feel like an idiot for asking if you know them ;). I certainly hope if you were one's dad you were also the others.....being twins and all 🤣

Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving. Bad ass Mustang

rrrr: The second part of your statement is SOOOO true. Unfortunately, I don't have the skills to drive this thing to it's limits on a proper road course. But the cruises I take are so much fun and I chirp thru the gears. 3" exhaust rocks, and the car has a killer stereo that I crank Low Rider on 😁 and lots of other 80s R&R

Here's a few pics of the pro tour suspension components that are on the Camaro, but most are hidden, only to be seen on a lift. A good friend of mine was building a '69
Camaro for the Optima Challenge and other autocross events and we pretty much bought 2 of everything when I was building this car. He was a regular on Lateral-g and ProTouring sites, so he did all the research for me.

He went with the Detroit Speed front subframe and I went with modified factory subframe with the Gulstrand mod/and Global west tubular A-arms, Hotchis hollow 1.25" front sway bar and 1" rear bar and welded frame connectors, QA1 front shocks, Bilstein rear shocks, Global West autocross 1 1/2" lowered rear springs, solid aluminum or Delrin bushings, Baer 4 wheel disk brakes and a whole bunch of other crap I forgot about. It rides like a new car and brakes almost as good as the 911 TwinTurbos I've owned. The trans is a TKO600 by Liberty Gears with a dual disk McLeod hydraulic clutch set up and a Long shifter. Shifts like a dream compared to most Tremecs I've driven. I upgraded to power steering with a Lee variable ratio box. Starts out at 16:1 and decreases to 12.7:1 close ratio as you turn the wheel. I highly recommend it to anyone even if you're just doing everything else stock. Feels like rack and pinion steering. Very precise.
