The original Super 73:

I got an invitation to see the new model and accessory line from Super 73 today at 3.
Rumored Casey Neistat will be introducing it.
Further rumor aluminum frame with more range, power and suspension. That’s Rumor. I doubt it.

If anything host bar and swag.
We’ll see later today.

The US and Canada are late (or last) to the table as far as all types of Ebikes go.
There's a ton of stuff (both cool and dumb) you're going to see soon.

My first thought was Harbor Freight.

Just baffled about the looks of many ebikes, stylewise.
That one has the sex appeal of an old mini bike minus the briggs and stratton.o_O
It’s supposed to Zigster. Get with the retro times.

Specialized has this wrapped up. 2nd place is far behind except the Pivot.

I got the carbon specialized and like it, although I feel guilty and still tend to ride my manual bike 90% of the time. Wife takes it to tennis.

I’m rolling by your place with two of my adult size big wheels and a couple sandlot duck hunting hats.
Let’s take a few laps around your ‘hood.

Giant Trance E mtb. Best thing I ever bought. Ride it way more then my KTM350 & definitely more then my specialized mtb. We go out & do 25 miles of awesome riding & still want more. 32 miles is as long as battery has lasted.

An inmate turned me on to a site dedicated to street legal and offroad bikes. There is some pretty cool stuff out there. The range and speed for some are really impressive...more superbike, less minibike;)

I've been thinking about rehubbing the rear wheels with emotors and associated battery/controls on our beach cruisers.

This is Super 73's info, not my takes;
Super73 unveils new 2,000W and 75 mile range full suspension e-bikes
super73-r-series-chick-4.jpg

Unveiled: Super73 R-Series e-bikes
The R-Series takes the original Super73 electric bike design and cranks it into overdrive.

That means a powerful motor, bigger battery, full suspension, high quality components, integrated tech/smart features and an aggressive design.

We’ll start with the motor. It’s a 750W continuous unit, but that’s a nominal 750 watts – as in 750 W in name only. Out of four power modes, the first three mode allow the motor to peak at 1,200W.

The Super73 R-Series ships with a standard Class 2 e-bike setup including a 20 mph (32 km/h) top speed and a functional hand throttle. But three other ride modes offer Class 1 operation (pedal assist limited 20 mph), Class 3 (pedal assist at 28 mph) and Unlimited Mode (full 2,000 W peak power and throttle control up to 28 mph).

Anybody got any idea how enforcement of the Class 1-3 deal works in CA?

I mean are there cops at the beaches writing tickets if you are operating your 1000w Class 3 bike responsibly on a Class 1 multi-use bike path?

I just asked my SIL Sheriff Deputy and he said he didn't have any idea and that they haven't been trained.

If their is going to be a problem with these power levels it'll start here and NYC. You can depend on that.

Damn that is good looking. I couldn't even tell from the photo is an e-bike. I was 100% in until I check their website and saw the price.

Just like all the other things that are fun and entertaining some assholes have to ruin it for everyone. And trust me, seen some real pricks on ebikes on the trails. That’s why they are outlawed a lot of places in OC.

BLM and Forest service have deemed them the same as bicycles. Many states are doing it as well. Arizona just passed a bill that says e-bikes can go anywhere regular bikes are allowed and are to be considered normal bikes. There are some asshats that have made up No e-bike stickers that look like legit stickers and are putting them on signs.

I ride pretty much everywhere regardless.
