Growing up in SoCal, it was always explained to us like a dropping a rock into a pond. The spot the rock hits is the epicenter. As the rings get further away from it they weaken. We always knew a slow roller meant we were far away and there may be problems somewhere else. A hard jolt and we were close.

I think the trailer she is in hit a speed bump. I call bullshit. If she from ridgecrest, the videos ive seen show it slowly shaking then a very big jolt then back to slow. Not a giant boom & 2 seconds later done....that sounds more like me in bed
