Eldora - best plans are hatched in the bar

Was bellied up to the bar with a buddy on Tuesday. Mentioned I was flying to Detroit this week for the World of Outlaws at Eldora. He ponders it for a minute, then “let’s road trip that bitch in my motorhome.”

So off we go Tuesday am from Denver in his 35’ diesel pulling his jeep. Meet up with buddies in Detroit, then Frankenmuth for a night, Lafayette Coney Island in Detroit and down to Eldora for racing on Friday and Saturday night. He was able to get a good space close to the track.

So it’s beers, steaks, Cuban cigars, bourbon and telling a bunch of lies for a week.

That’s awesome! Eldora is definitely a bucket list race to get to..like to do the Chili bowl as well.

I wanna get back to Eldora again!! Not gonna lie, don't know about the road trip. Drove to Tulsa this year for the Chili Bowl. The drive was a once and done for me.

Too funny, I find it easy to bark out orders from the cheap seats. My wingman doesn’t seem to mind driving too much. Although I’m always weary of open stretches of road, when I’ve heard him blurt out “take over, I gotta go” as we’re barreling down the road

I will have two other co drivers so that should help.

I was curious if you were going to drive I-70 or I-80.... That's about 1600 miles of corn and wind farms to look forward too. Looks like a great trip!

Arrived at the track, parked the rig, drove up to Frankenmuth for that great family style chicken and sides. Hope the weather holds, looks like rain.

Got rained out last night so we bellied up to a bar and watched the Kentucky Derby. One solid day of racing was probably enough anyway. Picked up some swag for the wifey. What do you guys think, does this get me the big welcome home smooch after a one week guys trip
