My craftsman finally died. Will cost almost as much as a new one to fix. So time for a new one. Which is the one to get? This is used mostly for washing my rzr.

I’ve had numerous electric pressure washers and they all did the job but would eventually die.

this time I was at Costco at the right time and I got me their 3500 psi gas powered unit and I can honestly say they are 10x better than the electric units.

I’ll never buy a electric again.

I used and still do on a rare occasion one of those cheapo yellow ones. Without going out to garage I don't know who made it. I used it for years cleaning out bilges in boats, think fishy bilges not the one's you guys have, It worked great and last I used it here to wash an engine compartment down the switch is not working but the machine still clunks along. Paid for itself a 1000 times I think.

Gas is definitely better but for small jobs like a RZR, bilge, trailer or sand car the electric is perfectly sufficient, easier to get out and use, and takes up less space as we are always short of space.

And when the gas one sits for a couple months I’m always having to mess with the carb or bad gas problems.

I bought this at Costco ten years ago and it still works like a champ.

I have a Karcher that works perfect for what you are looking to do. Unless there is some sort of regulator, I would avoid the super powerful gas ones for rzr washing.

Kranzle makes great small washers. Mines at least 10 years old. Just sold my big gas pen and got an electric 4000psi 4gallon unit that is great. But draws 40 amps or so. Nice not to deal with another engine.

Keep in mind a lot of the electric ones you cannot get extension hoses for some, the hose is only about 16 feet long.

I have 2 of the ryobi 2,000 psi electric, works great for the sxs and cars. The 2300 psi is the next one up I would get that one today!

i had a Costco yellow Karcher for years and always had issues with it. The electric is easy and quick, just drain the water out if the pump and the hose. Works great with a DI system

You can Tim the Toolman Taylor a Karcher as I did. I got the advanced package and it rocks. The pressure washer was the cheapest part.

$219 bucks. Harbor Freight.

Plus side is the conventional handle with changeable tips. Longer hose.

Recently bought this one from Pressure Washers Direct. 2,000 psi for $189.99.

Nice 30 ft hose and 35 ft electric power cord. Have only used it once, to clean up the concrete walk on the side of the house. Did a great job on a pretty dirty, rough surface.

I have a new Ryobi 2300. It is my second one. For the price, they are pretty awesome. The previous one lasted a couple years.

Does it have the adjustable head ? My wife bought me the 3000 psi and i didnt want a adjustable head and i felt 3000 psi was to much for just sxs washing . Do they still sell the 2300 ?

I bought the $99 version. Works fine for cleaning the dirt car and getting dirt off the sidewalk. I bought the foamer last trip out. Hoping it makes it even easier. If i were to do it again I’d get the better unit with the soap dispenser attached.

Gas or electric they can put out enough pressure for most non commercial uses. The big difference is water volume. Lets you do more work in less time

i had a harbor freight that the pressure switch eventually died, so i bought the same $99 ryobi posted above but it was on sale for $69. grabbed an extra 25' hose. so i dont have to drag it around, it sits in the garage always hooked up and its always ready to go. i dont understand why you all need 5000 psi for washing cars and getting the house clean unless you want to blow the stucco off the walls. at the same time why you'd want to spend $3000 on a gas pressure washer that sits in your garage or shed all year and that one time you need to use it to pressure wash a driveway versus just renting one. i use my pressure washer to rinse the cars with a CR spotless water system and with a foam cannon to get em soapy. at $99 i can buy 30 of them when they die for the price of one gas one and not have to hassle with gas, carbs, chokes, etc.

Who is spending $3000 on a gas pressure washer? The gas version of your ryobi is only $300, honda ones are like $350. The small electric pressure washers are good for small stuff like washing cars but if you do any real jobs with them they wear out a lot faster than a gas one. If you use it on a regular basis you will wear out more than 3 electric ones for before a gas one dies.

I have the $79 green harbor freight one and it works pretty good.
Yep, years ago I had a Sioux hot water pressure washer that was simply awesome but it was huge and cumbersome, used a shit load of propane to heat the water to just short of steam and sometimes a little to aggressive for the job at hand. Picked up one of the cheapo HF units, it serves the purpose most of the time , doesn't take up much space and is very mobile. For $79 it's not a disappointment.

I have a small Greenworks box style electric one. 1700psi I think. It’s been great for the last couple years and I have used it a shit ton. Don’t expect it to do anything crazy, but basic car washes(w/ foam cannon) and cleaning the driveway is easy! Hard to beat at $100

I need to pressure wash my wood fence to get rid of the gray before I stain it or add a sealant, shit like that. And pressure wash concrete to get rid of the mud tracks from the contractors. Think an electric one will do the job? Or should I just rent a big gas one for the day, get it all over with, and buy the electric for the smaller jobs later?

Electric would do the job, but you might have to narrow your spray to get enough power to do the wood. That only means more passes than a gas engine one would take. Mud tracks shouldn't be a problem at all.
