Im 55 years old and I have had 21 boats to date, of which the last 14 were Eliminators, so you can say I am pretty loyal to the brand and have dreamed for a very long time about building my own from scratch. Well that day has come. With all the boats I have had, big and small, inboards and outboards, I came to the conclusion that the Daytona 25 was my favorite boat I ever had, big enough, yet small enough, timeless hull design, it just works well, and with twin outboards the performance and low maintenance cant be beat. My 22 Daytona with twin 300's was an awesome boat but just a few feet too small to make it an all day boat on Havasu.
Worked out a deal with Jake over the past week and stopped in today to make it official. There are two boats ahead of mine to go in the mold, so I am going to say it will take a year to be safe, they are saying 7-8 months but I would rather be surprised instead of disappointed so I am going to set my sites on one year.
This will be the first 25 Daytona labeled as a 255 Daytona.......by doing so, it shows as a 26 on the title which makes a huge difference on insurance costs. Most insurance carriers allow much more power to be on a boat that is larger than 25 feet without the rate up if it was listed as 25 feet or less.
I wanted a patriotic theme that was pretty timeless, boat will be loaded up with a fully decked out Extreme triple axle trailer, alcantara interior, dual big Simrad displays, etc, etc.
Things are going off at the factory, there are 19 builds underway, and one customer had the In N Out truck come by today to say thanks to all of the employees for the work on his new build.
There wont be much to post about for a few months until "Gelcoater" starts working his magic, I will be updating everyone once we get to that point.
