Anyone know how the Eliminator sv29 ran? Top speed? Which prop?

I think shu said they got over 90 off the trailer but ran out of prop. I think they were expecting around 100mph. Forgot which prop and final numbers though

92 MPH with a Mercury 600. We thought we would get close to a 100 MPH, but we found out that the other SV29 that was built( Orange/black) has a Stage 2 Whipple kit on it, so that bumps that 600 mercury up to close to 700HP. All in all everyone was happy with that 92 MPH number Bob got out of it last week. That was with 3 people in it too.

92 in a Vee Bottom boat with 600HP? That is an awesome number.

Congrats on a great setup Eliminator!

A friend had a 28' DCB Extreme V bottom with the 600SCI, the fastest that boat did with 3 people was low 80's. That SV29 is a fast hull!

When the boat came out OL was claiming over a 100 with a stock 600.. I talked mike f several times about it and how unbelievably fast that is for a stock 600.

That sucks if it turns out that was all bs. And they had done the upgrades and claimed it was stock.

I was at Desert Storm a few years back, the first year the boat was built - the orange and cf boat, and I remember them announcing that it ran right at 100 with the stock 600.

In the engine pic on their website, the orange SV29 has a billet whipple pulley on it clear as day. Kinda hard to miss, im surprised if they tried to claim it was a stock 600.
In the description for the boat, they are saying "speeds over 98mph with a 565".

Its a bitchin boat for sure, but maybe its being advertised a bit optimistic

In 2003-4ish a 2750 Lavey Craft race boat(F1-11) set a Kilo record at 90+,I want to say between 91-93.It was pretty much standard layup Lavey with a layer of Kevlar.Full back seat, full one piece deck/innerliner,carpeted under deck and cooler stow for rec use, which it was used for pleasure on occasion.
It ran that number with a stock Merc 500,sealed,as per APBA rules.
They battled back and forth for a couple seasons on that kilo record with another team/builder out of NY,Was a green Velocity.

I posted the pic and speed from 2012 LOTO Shootout of the blue OL SV29 with stock Merc Racing 565 power in the "From the Mold" section, but it has obviously not been seen by readers of this thread. Mike Fiore ran it to 99 in a mile that day. Boat has seen 101 with setup and tall prop. Runs 98+ with very reasonable family boating setup/drive height, a speed which I have personally driven with 2 people and fuel.

Glad to see the nice product turned out by Eliminator, I'm sure the new owner will love it.

Don't matter what color the pulley is,what matters is its diameter. ;)

Was just pointing out that you can't just look at that picture of a spinning pulley and say it's a whipple pulley.

It is very fast but small for a 29.

Peter Wunins SV29 (the guy on OSO with 63K hits) with an ilmor 725 isn't as fast as a foam cored Lavey 28 EVO with a 710 in it.

He sent it back to OL after he picked it up for a repaint- not likely to happen with eliminators version.

He put a giant wing on it to keep it from chine walking at speed.

Is this boat being sold as an Eliminator or an Outerlimits?

Regardless of the Orange sv29 having a stage 2 whipple, that is fast for a single engine 29' v hull. My 28 eagle with 700hp Phaff engine runs 75 on full tanks and 3 people.

I'm not sure that the orange one actually has a whipple upgrade in it if the 565 boat is running 98-99 mph

No sir, it's my buddy's, we've been motorhead friends for over 20 years. He did a lot of research before he bought it, and has owned it since 2012. It spends most of its life on the Mississippi River near the WI/IA border.

If you can drive an OB "pad" boat, this is not an issue, but to jump from a standard cruiser into one of these takes some time to learn how to drive a pad sterndrive. This boat takes the rough, too, as the Snowy Mountain Brewery fellas can attest.

I remember reading that and all the people debating it over on OSO. Outerlimits was adamant that it was stock 600. hmmm

Well, question did Eliminator layup the boat the same as Outerlimits did? Wasn't Outerlimits know as being composite light layup wizards? The west coast version could be heavier.

The first couple SV29's built at OL were actually epoxy boats. Eliminators will be glass.

OL fib? NEVER! LOL

They couldn't distance themselves quick enough from Joe Sgro when he was caught up in all the legal issues with the stolen boats and what not. But now that thats all over, hes a "factory racer" again. :rolleyes

I'd like to see this thing in a twin configuration. As I recall the price on it seemed pretty reasonable. Just can't remember the number.

It pretty much boils down to drive height being different and Horsepower being different!! Of course Mike is a brother in law to the Whipple family so why not have the Whipple kits on the motors in these boats!

It's not a stock 600 in the second orange and black boat that is sitting in Havasu for sale!! I believe that Gelcoater will post a pic of the ECM that has the sticker on it soon!

It won't fit with the current deck/mold. I want to build a twin set up SV 29. Great platform, I'd love to own one. [emoji106]🏻

Here are two pics I took. You can see how narrow the engine bay is...

twins are out.
The inner liner structure is specifically designed for a single. What I do not know is if OL has a separate twin dedicated liner for the boat. The whole ass end of that boat is somewhat modular,I can see it possible.

Just for the record. The Epoxy boats weiged 4,850.

I dont see why the rear upper portion of the deck/engine bay couldn't be modified to fit twins. Or run a different style engine hatch that was raised slightly to allow room for the motors. Twins in this thing would be SICK. I think OL kept it a single because they were trying to keep the price right around 200k.

If the boat runs that hard with a single 600. I'm not sure what the advantage of twins would be. I'd think a big single would be the ticket.

That was my thinking as well Tank. Gelcoater, Is it possible to re construct the rear section of the deck and engine bay to run twins once it's out of the mold? Or would you have to build a new deck mold?

You could probably figure out something there. Those black pods to either side of the hatch on the horizontal plane are separate pieces.They-cover a section of the deck that could be "trimmed" I guess? New,taller pods would need to be fabbed, and a new hatch,or a one piece deal?Even then I'm not sure there would be room?It would take some measuring.
There's still the liner situation to deal with.

I sort of agree with RD though, why?A bigger engine should do the trick.

I believe the 4850 weight is rigged. Epoxy and carbon fiber layup. Super light. Figure my 24 Baja that was heavy and fiberglass and metal and shit was 5k rigged. Makes sense this would be fully rigged at 4850. Light boat for a 30 footer.

My boat is constructed with inner liner. The inner liner stops just front of the twin engines. Don't know the depth of the engine bay of the OL, twin engines could be sitting too high, requiring raised hatch that would ruin the looks of the boat.:hmm

Eliminator wants to completely re-tool the deck and build process. The complete OL package consisted of 19 molds ... yes NINETEEN !!

The 100mph Kilo Run was in the SMB Race Boat which was all Carbon Fiber Whippled 525 ...
