Anyone know how the Eliminator sv29 ran? Top speed? Which prop?
When the boat came out OL was claiming over a 100 with a stock 600.. I talked mike f several times about it and how unbelievably fast that is for a stock 600.
That sucks if it turns out that was all bs. And they had done the upgrades and claimed it was stock.
A friend had a 28' DCB Extreme V bottom with the 600SCI, the fastest that boat did with 3 people was low 80's. That SV29 is a fast hull!

In the engine pic on their website, the orange SV29 has a billet whipple pulley on it clear as day. Kinda hard to miss, im surprised if they tried to claim it was a stock 600.
In the description for the boat, they are saying "speeds over 98mph with a 565".
Its a bitchin boat for sure, but maybe its being advertised a bit optimistic

Don't matter what color the pulley is,what matters is its diameter. The merc 600's and up come with billet pulley's that look just like that.

I posted the pic and speed from 2012 LOTO Shootout of the blue OL SV29 with stock Merc Racing 565 power in the "From the Mold" section, but it has obviously not been seen by readers of this thread. Mike Fiore ran it to 99 in a mile that day. Boat has seen 101 with setup and tall prop. Runs 98+ with very reasonable family boating setup/drive height, a speed which I have personally driven with 2 people and fuel.

Glad to see the nice product turned out by Eliminator, I'm sure the new owner will love it.

Is this your boat?
No sir, it's my buddy's, we've been motorhead friends for over 20 years. He did a lot of research before he bought it, and has owned it since 2012. It spends most of its life on the Mississippi River near the WI/IA border.
If you can drive an OB "pad" boat, this is not an issue, but to jump from a standard cruiser into one of these takes some time to learn how to drive a pad sterndrive. This boat takes the rough, too, as the Snowy Mountain Brewery fellas can attest.

Well, question did Eliminator layup the boat the same as Outerlimits did? Wasn't Outerlimits know as being composite light layup wizards? The west coast version could be heavier.
Actually Mike Watched over Eliminator every step of the way on Layup! It was 200 pounds lighter than the ones they done!!
Eliminator version is 600 pounds lighter I believe...
The first couple SV29's built at OL were actually epoxy boats and lighter lay ups. Eliminators will be glass.
OL fib? NEVER! LOL
They couldn't distance themselves quick enough from Joe Sgro when he was caught up in all the legal issues with the stolen boats and what not. But now that thats all over, hes a "factory racer" again. :rolleyes
I'd like to see this thing in a twin configuration. As I recall the price on it seemed pretty reasonable. Just can't remember the number.
twins are out.It won't fit with the current deck/mold. I want to build a twin set up SV 29. Great platform, I'd love to own one. [emoji106]
Here are two pics I took. You can see how narrow the engine bay is...

twins are out.
The inner liner structure is specifically designed for a single. What I do not know is if OL has a separate twin dedicated liner for the boat. The whole ass end of that boat is somewhat modular,I can see it possible.
Just for the record. The Epoxy boats weiged 4,850.
I dont see why the rear upper portion of the deck/engine bay couldn't be modified to fit twins. Or run a different style engine hatch that was raised slightly to allow room for the motors. Twins in this thing would be SICK. I think OL kept it a single because they were trying to keep the price right around 200k.
If the boat runs that hard with a single 600. I'm not sure what the advantage of twins would be. I'd think a big single would be the ticket.
You could probably figure out something there. Those black pods to either side of the hatch on the horizontal plane are separate pieces.They-cover a section of the deck that could be "trimmed" I guess? New,taller pods would need to be fabbed, and a new hatch,or a one piece deal?Even then I'm not sure there would be room?It would take some measuring. That was my thinking as well Tank. Gelcoater, Is it possible to re construct the rear section of the deck and engine bay to run twins once it's out of the mold? Or would you have to build a new deck mold?

Getting home when one motor crapped out in the middle of the ocean.
