Instead of waking up, and pulling away, more and more are moving further left. The amount of greed is frightening. Kickbacks from shady donors, and the need to stay in power, keep them headed that way.

I’m talking about the millions of average people. Not the politicians and media and big tech or big Corp. they’ll go whatever way the money is. Period.

I’m talking about my neighbors. Or your neighbors or people at the store, the average working class people hell, people on here that vote Democrat for some reason. There’s a lot out there. Normal everyday working people. I just don’t get how any sane person can look at things and be like, “yeah voting Democratic is the way to go!” WTF?

It’s gonna come down to the middle, as always.

1/3 of the pop will vote dem regardless.
1/3 of the pop will vote republican regardless.

In the fight for the swing vote, I think it would have gone overwhelmingly to republicans, but the abortion issue is polarizing. It will absolutely be pushed to the forefront, lies will be told (“republicans are targeting interracial marriage next!”) and could take some of the critical swing vote.

My great aunt and uncle were old school dems. Met in the Sierra Club, donated to animal charities and did a lot of bag packing. When my uncle was very ill, I went and saw them at their home in Napa. She was born and raised in the Bay, surgical nurse, he had been an engineer.(numbers and drafting, not train)
On their TV stand, alongside of the portrait of Churchill, was a framed portrait of The Don.

After decades of blindly pulling the lever for the dems, Obama ruined it. The party they believed in, and given to, had pushed them away.

Their fairytale world will come crashing down if things proceed. When those with much to lose decide they won't give in, and those of us with little to lose won't give up, the war of attrition will be decided by tolerance of pain.

Most who have anything at all have risked things, and worked for it. Pain is part of work. They may have the higher ground, but not the drive to keep what was merely gifted them.
