Looks like Nevada is on the right track. They’re actively petitioning to recall the governor. That’ll start the ball rolling.

6 CA Bay Area Counties just extended to May 26
Data shows this decision was not needed and phase 1 should start May 1.
I cant believe people are believing another month will help

on the other hand, 6 rural counties (with less then 50 total cases) asked Idiot Newsom to open and he said no.

It is complete and utter BS. They've strangled the economy for far too long and forced people to do things that in the end, may prove to be completely unnecessary. In my opinion, this warm weather is going to be a huge factor. People are going to give the idiot leaders of their communities the big middle finger. I'm guessing in a week or two......at most, we'll see things getting back to normal. People are starting to voice "They've had enough."

I’d like to take this moment to say Dave has been open to all ideas giving a place to vent, exchange ideas but most importantly offer a community to share information.
I bet few on here really understand the balls it takes to back this these days.
I know this is a small community but 2 friends tell 2 friends squared etc.

Hopefully we’ll get somewhat real numbers at some point. (I won’t be holding my breath). I’m not sure what normal death rates are over a couple months but 42 in OC and 41 in Sac don’t seem off the charts. 23 in SF?

What pisses me off about our governor and his closing the state is this POS is still collecting a paycheck. He’s not feeling the economic effect of not getting paid and paying his bills. That is all I’m done. My opinion wrong or right. I normally don’t get into or comment on politics, but I needed to vent.

Once the banks/businesses are being robbed, stores looted, and LEO finally decide the man power is far below acceptable standards for their own safety, will one thought be given about the real consequences of the effects from very poor decisions.
If I was a small mom and pop shop, no way would I open up first only to be robbed.

The reality of it is I can’t think of one government employee that isn’t being paid during this or will feel the effects of it.

I live In Houston Texas, a friend of mine is actually running the response for the entire county. I've talked to him a few times over the course of this(not to much as he's going 90 hours a week strong for almost 2 months now) and per him this is the most overblown media driven fear mongering move in history. I've asked him what are the long run implications of this and he said at this time next year getting Covid 19 will be similar to getting the flu or strep.

As far as how our local officials are doing, last week the county judge issued an order mandating wearing a mask or receive a 1000 dollar fine. Right after that the chief of police came held a press conference saying serious crimes were up across the board and his policeman had better things to do then cite maskless people. The neighboring counties said it was unconstitutional and then the governor over rode the order, so on Monday the county judge repealed the order.

To RD's point, it always comes down to someone getting paid telling/mandating someone else not to get paid.

LA cut a whopping 10%. They went from $1.2bil in the bank to $190mil in a heartbeat. Instead of opening up they want federal assistance. Seems like they have more than 10% of their jobs that could be cut based on everything shut down.

I saw Abbott's press conference Monday and that came up, about the masks. Made me wonder what that judge thought of what he said, lol.... :p

According to Mohave County Supervisor Buster Johnson, Duecy does NOT intend to open up less affected areas/counties of AZ separately. He may open up the state in steps. But, nothing is going to happen in LHC until it happens to the entire state. Unfortunately, that looks like it could be a while.

I am under the impression that tax payers actually live in those states. So go ahead and point out exactly where tax $$$ should go...???

Yesterday’s numbers weren’t good if that means anything. The state is increasing by 2% a day and Mohave county by10% a day.

Shit, I don’t know, we can’t kill the economy - open slowly and monitor it. I’m sure this test blitz they are about to do this weekend will make things seem worse.

Thats a reason for not have coordination across multiple states...

So do you suggest we close borders between states with different infection rates and responses?

There is going to be a spike after they open things back up, no matter when they do it.

The SIP wasn’t implemented to stop the spread. It’s to slow, control the timing of infections. The whole flatten the curve thing.. :D 👍

In the last 3 weeks, my County has had 6 additional confirmed cases, and no additional deaths. bringing the total cases to 145 and deaths at 8.

Three weeks ago, we were at 139 cases and 8 deaths. With a county population of 400,000.

Thanks for posting DWC, I live in San Joaquin County and I believe our county population is right about 1M. I just recently moved from Stockton the largest city and moved to the little town of Ripon population about 15K. This puts it in some perspective if numbers are somewhat correct.

Last one... Sorry, been on a crapload of fairly boring Webex calls.

OC has seen 42 deaths over the last 6 weeks. Every one sad, no doubt.
In and average year there are:
- 542 flu, 893 accidents, 313 suicides, 2,834 heart disease and 499 diabetes.
I’m not a doctor but I’d bet that heart, diabetes and suicides will see short and long term spikes. How many lively hoods were wrecked? The unemployment numbers will be off the charts for months/years. The future numbers won’t lie. We may prevent some from dying from the Vid But the numbers will just be shifted to other buckets.
Most mind boggling fact is doctors don’t have to prove its covid to put it on the death certificate.

The California Governor is already trying to set us up for another month after hearing his speech Monday. He pretty much called us bad California, bad, bad, bad California. You didn’t stay home over the weekend and I fear this will only delay things. 🤦🏻‍♂️

If i was a small business to me means there are other businesses like mine. Ie. salons barbers manicurist restuarant motorcycle shops boat shops... I would be on the phone with anyone in my industry i can get ahold of with a plan of action to open and try and get as many people to open with me at the same time. People want the same thing they just need someone to lead the way! My wifes salon is opening up on the 1st guess well see.

Everyone ask why if Coronavirus isn't as deadly as they say why would these governors not open? Quick answer is November elections. All but 2 states that keep extending the lockdown are dem states. They want to keep the economy locked down so we dont have any rebound in the 3rd quarter. Economic rebound = reelection for Trump. It's pretty simple. Every week extended delays the rebound. Delay the rebound bad economy right before election. The media is already pushing the narrative and also helping with pumping fear into americans with false data.

Parker strip should say eff u, and open up, the places would be packed and making money.

Interestingly when asked how he was going to enforce the continued closures when some bars and restaurants were stating on Facebook that they were going to open, he calmly stated their liquor license is at risk.

Sounds like he isn’t screwing around.
