So if you grew up in Phoenix in the 80’s you probably cruised Metrocenter mall. I guess they are closing it up at the end of next month. Some guys On fagbook got together and are putting on one last cruise tonight. There are a few schools from back in the day that are doing meet ups.

Wish I had something cool to go cruise like my old Z-28 that I had back then. But me and the little lady are going to go take a few laps in the truck for old times sake.

It was fun in the mid 70's too. Cruising Central was better though.

I went to school in Phoenix in 82/83. Metrocenter hd all the super tall lifted trucks, Central had the Hot rods, drag racers and the low riders. Good times.
I thought it was odd that there was a surf shop in Metro Center called Vans California Daze! Tempe did have the big flush bowl wave park.

Too bad its closed. Have fond memories of Metrocenter. In the late 1980's until 1995, my dad had an office at 19th. and Northern. Not far from the mall. Id go to the mall for cigarettes and pick up girls. A smoke shop in the mall sold CDN cigarettes.

South Phoenix low rider car and truck scene and cruising through Encanto Park on Sunday’s was the shit in 1984. I was 18 year old mechanic with a 1966 Chevy Impala lifted all the way around. My boss who was a cowboy at the Chevrolet dealership use to say “if they splited your head open all that would come out would be pussy and low riders”. We would laugh. AND I was not offended because he was right! My boss had a 1955 Bel Air hardtop fully restored. Good times for sure.

Oh, my best pick up was at Metrocenter. Was quickest going from meeting at the mall and banging her at my parents place! I'm still mad at my parents for selling their house in Paradise Valley.
