So Ive got some slop in the drive. Its noticeable when you get on and then off the pad on the upper end. thought about putting ext steering on it. I cant imagine anything more than 375-400hp if I were to repower at some time. It is bonestock 300 right now.

Who would you go with and why. Seems like they rum between $1250-$1500 for a kit. I'd prefer to do it a little cheaper but whats another thousand.....

Gary at GT Marine quoted me right at 3 grand for a dual hyd setup for my 99 Hallett 210. That was installed. I havent taken it over there yet but will soon. You might wanna call and chat him up to see what the can do for you.

I would fix the problem. Adding external steering would just mask the issue, which is worn parts.

Yep sounds like a worn gimble, should fix it instead. I had to do mine twice on my old boat.
