I recently picked up an electric cart from one of my real estate clients. All I know is that it's a 2001.5+ and that it had been sitting on the side of his house for 10+ years.

My client said it just needed batteries and a charger. Bought a new charger, put new batteries in and it wouldn't run. Go figure.

I tested the motor and it worked so I replaced every single electrical switch/component, rewired darn near most of it and couldn't get it to run. Last item was the controller, put a new one in an bingo! On the bright side, I have a mechanically new cart with a ton of spare parts! LOL! If I was shopping, I would have opted for gas, but this one fell into my lap. Should be a fun toy for my family to play with at the river and I still think I am money ahead from buying one already done.

Stock top went away. Putting an extended top on for rear passengers.

I went with the Centennials over the US batteries that where in it for cost. I plan to buy a watering system to extend their life.

Added a voltage life gauge so nobody ends up stranded LOL. I Think the hazard light feature that came with the light kit is hilarious! I guess if we ever get a flat tire we could leave the hazards on while we wait for AAA! I’ll put a new dash with glovebox doors on in the future.

Looks great!

When I re did mine recently i purchased the same steering wheel but in a different color combo. I think its one of the best looking out there just $$$$.

For your plastic parts, use this to bring them back to life and shiny (dash, trim, etc). Shit really works.

Thanks! Been needing to look for something like that! The body is getting painted.

I found them on Amazon for $400. Not as much as I thought it would be. I wonder if anyone buys the cores.

He's not a golden retriever? What happend??

LOL! Our neighbors got a lab almost a year ago, he knew we've been looking and told us about the parents of his dog having a litter. The price was great and we got 1st pick of the litter. The whole deal was a total blessing!

What controller did u go with?
Did u install a steep hill chip or speed chip? They are very cheap, u may want to get both & see which u like best with rear seat & additional passengers etc.
Congrats on cool build, thanks for sharing.
Way cool pup also

Lift and wheels look great. Not sure what direction you’re going for seats but there an Etsy vendor that makes custom covers you just staple on.
We went with Mexican blankets soaked in 3m to give it a rat rod vibe along with no more burning of asses in the hot as sun.

Thank you. I bought a controller off of Amazon. It was a direct replacement for the one that came out of it which was a Curtis. I ordered a speed harness it should be here in the next few days. It’s very hilly where I live and I was able to get it Up some pretty steep streets without a problem. Looking forward to seeing how it runs with the speed harness. Yeah I was cheap, it was like 10 bucks.

Thanks. I’ll have to look out for that Etsy seller, I have a brand new flip backseat with black upholstery which obviously doesn’t match the old worn out front seat. I was thinking about taking the cushions to my upholstery guy and having them stitched in Tweed. Not really looking forward to having black seats at the river.

Painted the body. Didn’t get too crazy on prep work. It’s a golf cart not a 57 Chevy. LOL scuffed it up with scotch brite pads and 400. Hit it with some Bulldog Adhesion promoter, some white primer then single stage acrylic urethane paint.

I plan to have my upholstery guy cover the seats. The new backseat came with black covers and the front tan covers were pretty beat. Thought I’d give this stuff a try on the front seat until I can get around to getting everything redone. I’m thinking grey Tweed with black piping

If its steep u WILL want to do steep hill chip with stock controller, not speed chip. Your stock controller will not like your lift & back seat

Thank you. The controller I have is upgraded to 350 Amps. From what I’ve read I think I should leave it alone and do no chips.

Pretty much complete. Decided to go ahead and upgrade the dash and add a stereo. The hole in the dash is too large for my JL BT receiver so I made a bezel. It’s off at polish.

Made a strap so I don’t loose my beers.

Replaced all the rivets with ss bolts. I hate rivets on things that may have to come apart again.

The vinyl paint stuff is like magic in a bottle. It works crazy good!

Dude, that came out fan-fuckin-tastic!! You should seriously consider doing this as a side cha cha. You could sell that thing for 4-5k sitting like that. Carts are out of control spendy right now (like everything else)

Nice Job!

However, I think you're missing something. At the time they wanted around $200 for the hitch so I built my own for less than fifty bucks.

Thanks. I like your seat! I really want to go tweed. I'll keep towels over the seats when it's hot until I can get them done.

My windshield came with the cart. It's a little weathered and I'll likely replace it. How do you like the tinted windshield at night?

Watch out for the golf cart roof when you're doing 90 MPH in the carpool lane. Where you at? That doesn't look like a familiar In-N-Out.

Hesperia off Main. Cruised 70 with windshield up to help with draft. The roof was fine. The aftermarket roof is pretty solid

I was going to say Main but it didn't look familiar for some reason. I tape the mirrors and window wiper down and just hope the roof doesn't get airborne.

Does the cart fit in a standard garage with the tires and lift?

My cart is about 77" inches tall and my garage at the river is around 81". How high did the lift and the tires raise your cart?
