my besties Mach26,new to him for about a year now.running 300X power with labbed 32 humpback cleavers.Has H2O pickups on bottom of boat,so running around two plus inch centerline shaft above bottom.been chasing MPH loss of around 6-8?best so far is 104mph..we have flowed injectors and replaced reed valves, still scratching our heads, gonna do pulse fuel pump rebuilds next and replace wimpy 5/16" fuel line that some knucklehead thought would be ok..

Had the same problem with a 300x that was put on a 21’ Daytona I bought that had an old 200 on it originally with 5/16” fuel lines, changed everything to 3/8” and problem solved

Ran down to the springs yesterday for early lunch. Must have been 3 boats out all the way down, smooth as glass. Stopped by 3 dunes on the way back, 6 boats spaced out nicely. Ran into Ryan and family there, his DCB below as I dont have one.
BTW, that bimini is on the float over next door.

If thats Dustins old boat, I always wanted that thing! Did you repower it with the XS's?? How do you like them over the Promax's? I have the same 300 pro's on my 257 carrera, and have been debating repowering. I think Dustin said it would run right at 100 with 28 bravos and the promax's?

I have never ran the boat prior with 28's always 30P bravos, I got it to run good with light fuel and only me and the mrs . The motors were tired, so we built 300xs . Joe at hotlaps helped with all of the hard work, we also did the latest DBR kits to them .

The power now is amazing with the added fuel economy that we have gained . But I started to play with props but have since got frustrated. so far with the 30 bravo 1 lobbed the boat will run 95 MPH at 6300 RPM with fuel tanks with me and the MRS.... But 15.8 % slip... I'm over chasing MPH id just like to get the slip down to around 10% .

Youre right, it was 30" bravos that he told me ran right at 100 with the pro max's.

Was the swap to the XS's worth it otherwise? My promax's have a little over 500 hard hours on them, and ive been debating whether to have Simon go thru them when the time comes, or swap to the XS's. The reduced fuel useage of the XS's would be nice for sure.
Currently my carrera will run 101 with labbed 14.25x32" humpback cleavers at 4400' altitude and ~110ish at sea level with 15x34" labbed cleavers. I dont really care if I lose some top end to gain economy/etc.

I went from X to XS powerheads, and at the same time did the DBR kits. I lost a few MPH on top, but the economy, and drivability made it 100000% worth it!

Good info, Thanks!! Might be worth doing it while the promax's still fetch some money used.

Think its worth it, Fuel economy is amazing and the mid range power is great as well . Plus a fresh repower cant be bad .

¥ea im thinking the same thing, im just trying to fight this slip .. If i can get as close to 10% as possible id be happy and just leave it alone

Did you keep your mids and lowers and cowls and drop on the xs powerheads or did you do complete?

WOW.... This was LA Show in 2000. We were all so proud and still are.... That Mach 22 and the 26 put this little company on the map. Great pics from Chris and Jody and we are still friends today. Cheers...

They were both, and still are, kick ass rides ! So cool to see how things have progressed.

How does DCB get the gel so smooth? Different mold technique or lots of sanding? This thread rocks
