Packed up the family at 6am. Stopped by the donut shop to give the kids food. Funny how a donut can still work as a pacifier for 16, 18 and 21yo. We then hit the road. Tucson....more importantly, Davis Monthan AFB.

The air show is free. Security was pretty strict, metal detectors and bomb dogs cruising the entry lines. Even saw a sniper nest that had a good field of view of the entry gates, and the main thoroughfare.

The kids were impressed with how quiet an A10 was compared to an F35, and how massive the modern warplanes are when flying alongside WWII fighters. We saw a demonstration of air to air refueling, both with fixed wing and rotor craft. The finale was the Thunderbirds. Really impressive abilities all the pilots had.

Thats awesome. I grew up on and around military bases and would see jets and land vehicles all the time. I loved seeing it all and thought that was what everybody could see normally. The life of a military brat. I would just sit and watch those jets practicing with the touch and goes.

Good, quality, fun time for the family for sure

Just missed you, damn. I was there, actually at the Air Museum with the Washes and the Chickens on Saturday.
They went to the air show on Sunday.

Awesome time I must say, I was there just a couple weeks ago but we only had statics to look at. I did spend 20 years of my life serving in the USAF as an aircraft mechanic/manager. Glad you enjoyed!😎
