Motor is a 92 mercury 115. When we got the boat home, the motor would go up, but not down. Replaced the relays and fixed the problem. Unfortunately I forgot to tighten the fill plug screw and leaked out the fluid. My question is, I am supposed to lift the motor all the way up to fill it correct? And then go up and down to bleed it? The pump is a Sierra 18-6777. Thank in advance

Yes, if you dont have one already you will need a Gear Lube Pump with a fitting, Walmart sells them cheep, but might not have the correct fitting, WestMarine will be more expensive but will have a bigger selection of fittings. When I bought my last pump I also purchased one of every fitting, I hate going back to the store again & again.

Rise the motor, connect the hose & fill the resivor, raise & lower motor to bleed.

Once blead remove hose and replace cap.
