Some of the 2k lbs. collected by stations. Surprised they do it at all....
We break it down from packaging to counter charge at Camp Pendleton later on.

you sir are the true fascist, ruining 4th of july for thousands of youth out there. what good is freedom if you cant blow something up.
I only get rid of it. In LA, this and the 10k lbs we dispose of each year are a handful of
Sand at the beach . Mortars going off every night for the next three weeks citywide

All you need to do is set your own autonomous country and you can do whatever you want, the police can’t do anything. Just ask the people in Seattle. Fireworks for everyone!

4th of July used to be my favorite holiday with the BBQ, fireworks, River, etc. Now with 2 dogs that are scared shitless of fireworks it has turned into my least favorite. We are up all hours of the night with the dogs as fireworks go off for several days around the 4th.

I used to spend at least 1000 every year and go to war with the neighbors in chino. I’m in norco now and I respect all the animals and neighbors so those days are done. We will be in bhc this year.

Not sure if Avi will have it this year, but that place goes off in the stadium after the best firework show I’ve ever seen put on by the casino.

fireworks have been going off almost on a nightly basis in Riverside for the last 2 months or so. I can hear them from my place a few miles away.

Wed. July 30, 1980 ---- Naval Station North Island, Electrical Contract for Constructing new ammunition storage bunkers, Reactionary Force Facility, Missile test and repair facility, for the storage of Tomahawk missiles and nuclear munitions.

I'm sitting in my job trailer directly across from the Point Loma Submarine Base, with a perfect view of the sub base and ammunition storage bunkers above perched on the side of Pt Loma. I had my binoculars out, curious what they were loading from one of the ammo magazines. About then I noticed a puff of white smoke come out of the magazine, followed by all hell breaking loose and my trailer damn near getting rocked off the jacks. I had no idea what I'd just watched explode, but knew it was bad.

It was only later when I read it was stored fireworks being loaded onto a truck for disposal that had exploded right before my eyes. Do take care Lowriver 2 !!!!!!!!!!

Dude....looks like the perfect arsenal to break up some rioters....no need to waste good shit...😂

I wish.....actually meeting with the US Attorney in LA to make sure anyone arrested for throwing mortar balls at Cops on skirmish lines gets charged with assault with a destructive device (IED)
You take a mortar ball out of a launch tube, light it and throw it at anyone , you just made an IED.
I have enough first hand videos of severed limbs from these things.
As mentioned by inmates, this stuff isn’t the fireworks or even M80’s from the 70’s /80’s. It’s down right deadly at close range with the amount of powder involved (mortar balls).

I read that case. There is video of it too.
Fireworks are the number one cause of killing Police Bomb Techs in the US. We take them very seriously. Heat shock and friction are what cause issues. Usually complacency and fatigue lead to poor handling and a tradgedy.
All of this made it to our bunker safely today.

Severed limbs means they won't be able to run or loot shit...sounds like a plan..😂😂😂

Ask your vet for some doggie downers. Actually a mild seditive. Really lowers the dogs stress level

Ya can't give them to the dogs for four months straight every night.
Look at what LR2 is posting they're fucking mortars, not the safe and sane little sparklers like when we were kids.

A video of the actual event, or re-enactment ? Having done contracting work on all the area bases for many years, I know they had cams at the sub piers and ammo pier on our side of the bay. Certainly a cam inside the magazine would have been horrific to watch.
Years later running a communications conduit out the pier where they kept the trained dolphins and beluga whales pens was a hoot --- damned belugas kept spitting water at us. 😁

Give them each a couple of Benadryls that’ll mellow them out. We have to do that to our boxer whenever there’s any type of an earthquake or thunderstorms.

Our new neighbor was shooting big mortars off on New Years, damn loud! Dogs were digging a bunker in the couch.

Expecting a repeat on the 4th

Just a reminder that fireworks explode. This was a transient that held onto a M80 for to long. I love fireworks though.

I’ve been buying mortars etc for years now to cause ruckus in our neighborhood but they’re expensive and last years mortar would have hit the chopper if he was any lower. It’s not worth the risk

About 8 years ago I bought some semi-professional mortars from a sketchy ass Indian up on a reservation in WA state.

Those shells were about 3 inches (versus the standard 1.5 inch ones). Had the remote black powder igniter attachments and all. They were NO joke. Ended up soaking them in water and disposing them after we nearly burned down a neighbors weedfarm lol

There’s a video at a distance of the explosion.
Similar events at explosive magazines in Hawaii and across the country.

Well no wonder Pendleton was burnin today😜
Actually that helps us as nothing to burn when we go out.
The back hill top of the base has un exploded stuff out there. They are able to contain the fire when that one area burns and they don’t activiely fight it on top so the fire Can burn said UXO.

I can say the fireworks of the last decade have become close to commercial grade.
The problem is 4 mil. People in LA with 1 mil. Lighting this stuff off for two months straight every night.
Basically no penalty other than the person losing the stuff they are selling.
I never lit off anything that rocked house windows as a kid. That’s the new normal and personally I don’t agree with it in urban areas. Not stopping anytime soon for sure.

We had a protestor running with one in it’s cardboard tube (no wrapping) in his hand. Officers arrested him for throwing a brick at Cops prior to him lighting it.
For a Cop, that tube could’ve been thought to be TNT and would’ve been justified Deadly force if he lit it.

Lucky for the protestor he didn’t

I hear you on the 2 month span old Fullerton house they been lighting up end of April til I moved out in June. Does get old. Most of our street had the good mortars though on the fourth.

The political fucks that approved personal use in AZ should have a sparkling fountain lit and shoved up their ass.

I agree. I refuse to believe there was no financial connection somewhere that drove that decision.
Asinine at best.

I live in pahrump. This has been the scene here everyday for 3 weeks. I’ve lived here 30 years and never seen the fireworks places this busy. 300’-400’ long lines everyday all day.

The same here in Chino. They even light stuff off in the daytime so all you see is a puff of smoke up in the air. I could have sworn someone was driving down the street outside our tract throwing M-80’s out the window, bigger boom than the regular mortars.

Last year wasn’t too bad. But some of the previous years have been insane. There is always a foggy haze here on July 5th.
