Flying to Pensacola this Friday with a buddy who just bought a DP Moho. Which route should we take? Driving non stop Cannonball Style to Echo Lodge.
Sorry, I had it backwards, 40 is bad in the winter. This time of year it’s not all the critical because the weather isn’t bad, winter time the 10 can be bad. 10 has more hills. I like the 40, you don’t have to deal with rice road on the way home and the steaks and bbq places in Texas abs Oklahoma are awesome.
Thats way to nice for parker . He is going to make the rest of us look bad ! Haha
And then there is New Mexico, sucks on either route. Last time through mostly everything was closed due to rona since much of it is Indian reservation.

@echoi have done this drive 4 times. Did the 10 once and the 40 the other 3. The 40 is easier in terms of weather and 10x more scenic. O wouldn't do the 40 unless it was significant times savingsThis time of year it’s not all the critical because the weather isn’t bad, winter time the 10 can be bad. 10 has more hills. Dang... How long is that motorhome? That thing is a UNIT
I’ve not been through there since 2015 but I noticed NM had highest priced fuel of any other state I went through except California.Think it has 150 gal tank, so two stops for fuel! It has the 600 hp motor.
Get that stack of great BBQ places to stop for the rest of usHuh? Once you hit texas the 10 is much better..its 80mph..and cuts WAY down on your time in speed trap NM. The 40 sucks donkey nuts for most of it. From texas to FL I can't help you but I drive the 10 to Havasu from texas and back essentially monthly from the Austin Texas area..I'd choose it every time over the 40. I can give you a stack of great BBQ places to stop as well.... Only real construction issue on the 10 right now is near Lordsburg, NM...DO NOT SPEED...its 65 but thats only maybe 10 miles.
I think the two terms "Used Motorhome" and "Non Stop" may be mutually exclusive.
Also the terms "New Motorhome" and "non stop."
It sure seems that shake down runs have lots of issues. Good Luck and be safe. Drowsy driving is dangerous!
It is a beautiful rig, for sure. What would someone expect to pay for something like that? Is 45' still prohibited for registration in Cal? Do you need a special license for the tag axle?
45 is legal in California. Ca requires a non commercial class b for over 40 ft or 26000 lbs I believe. Not many people abide by this though. It is a beautiful rig, for sure. He should look into mail service in Florida and register there. I think ours is under 200 for two years. Was thousands in Ca per year. My driver license street address is our motorhome plate number. Not sure what he actually paid for it. He will be on the road for a year and not living in CA so it def won't be registered in California. No special license is needed that I know of.
We did ours in Montana, saved about $17,000 in sales taxLLC in Montana is what he is going to do I think.
I've also heard that Montana will accept a PO Box as a permanent address for registration purposes, and offer mail forwarding, so you can register for >$100 a year.
Everything we have that is paid for, RV, Boats, cars etc. It usually doesnt work if their is a lender involved because the banks want to know where the asset is and want the actual address where the collateral is located.More info on this only for rvs or other stuff too?

It cost me about $1500 to set up about 20 years ago, not sure what they charge now.

You can get financing, but the rate is going to cost a couple of points higher....
I did on my 5er, my Montana LLC rents it to my work business and I can take the depreciation of the trailer off my Montana LLC business.
The spooky part of being in passenger seat for me is not being able to see out of the mirror on that side. I do most of the driving but my partner does drive out on open highway
